Wunderbar! What a wide variety of different styles in these ensembles. Thank you, onxidlib, and especially Peter Losin with his wealth of information and recorded sounds!

thx for this, and a note about the picture. This is the Festhalle, not the Kongresshalle, which was situated close to it. Unfortunately the Kongresshalle was demolished years ago.

sorry, this is Anonymous from last post again. Messed up on the details.

The picture is of what goes as "Sendesaal", ie transmission hall, of the local radio station (and not "Festhalle"). The newer editions of the festival happened there, and are still happening.

The "Kongresshalle" where the 1970 festival happened, however, is definitely this:

I am surprised that it is so hard to find a picture of such a beauty of a building on the web.
Seems to be some kind of phantom limb pain...

Is there any way (of course there is) that people could chose some name other than Anonymous?

My most wonderful continental music sister/brother, if these 12 German Jazz Fest sounds yet emit still now even a shimmer of life somewhere out there in the sharing dimension of the Gekniffene Röhren, I would be supremely grateful if you might enlighten me by email.

Sorry - but no links spared. After the box was released I've deleted all links at the filehoster.
Even if I still had the links I wouldn't know your email-address.....
