THEO LOEVENDIE CONSORT "ANTIBES, 1969"

Here's a short recording by Theo Loevendie's Consort from Antibes previously offered in some comments or in the contributions section.

It was recorded the same year as the Blue Notes (in Antibes) after they left South Africa.
From both groups there was a french TV footage but apparently it has been deleted from youtube.
Which may not have a whole lot to do with this recording but it seemed like a good place to start....

New Movements in Jazz-(Altena-Octet, Contraband,New Klookabilities,ICP)Netherlands Transcription service-4 Lp 87078/076, 1987

A repost of sorts, years ago , i started sharing this set here in installments, but for some reason , never got around to finishing it..
Mostly because my original rip wasn't up to scratch , the records were dirty and so forth.....

I've had a few Email requests over the years , asking for the un posted volume...
Here they all are together in one huge split archive!
Anyhow its a much more meticulous rip ,Executed using superior equipment, stylus, turntable etc

I dedicate this to our friends here past and present, Nick , Onxi, Andy, Kinabalu .. Riccardo , Boromir and all  who have ever shared here.
Enjoy!!!!

THEO LOEVENDIE THREE "STUDIO RADIO VARA, HILVERSUM 1967"

With all the recent postings of Theo Loevendie, I thought I'd hit the archives to seek out this set from 1967 which was aired on Dutch radio. A trio setting, Loevendie tripling on soprano sax, bass clarinet and piano. This was one of many tidbits from the early days of European free jazz uploaded to Dime in late 2007 by "sammler KK". A true treasure trove of rarities. More to come!

COMPANY 1 [Altena - Bailey - Honsinger - Parker] (INCUS, 1976)

For the first concert COMPANY was Maarten van Regteren Altena, Tristan Honsinger, Evan Parker and myself. On the following day the same four musicains taped the music from which this first COMPANY record was chosen. Altogether we recorded a number of duo pieces, all the possible trio combinations, and also a quartet. The music on this record represents the four trio combinations and is the result of each trio taping approximately twenty-five minutes music out of which one 10 to 12 minute piece was in each case chosen for the record.
Usually in making a selection from recorded group improvisation the choice of the material to be used is based on a communally agreed verdict as to which music is 'the best' of that available. In this case, with the permission of the other players, I was the sole arbiter and made the four selections without consulting the other three as to their preferences. In my choice I was guided by one specific criterion; I chose that part of the music by each trio which seemed to me to be most characteristic of improvisation and which best revealed the qualities which can be found only im improvisation. (Music and text by Mr.Bailey [rip provided by Nick & posted by me...])

Enjoy!
