Wow, I was there! It must have been the first time I saw SR live, and I had only listened to a bit of his music, borrowed from the music library, by that time. I can remember being a little unsure about what it all meant. Black Sci-Fi, and all sorts of music mixed up. Strangely enough the last time I saw him perform was in Manchester as well, on what I think must have been his final tour. He performed from a wheel chair on that second occasion and was more of a presence than a participant. A true original. I'm very much looking forward to this.

Hi, thanks for posting the Sun.Ra concerts... You are GREAT ! Keep up the good work .. I've just listened to the Manchester 1982 concert and I enjoyed it .. I couldn't believe my eyes and my ears when i listened to a Live version of the "Sleeping beauty" (according to the Earthly Discography bible it seems that Sun Ra played it only in few other couple of sessions even though to be honest I'm not able to find this concert in the book )- I'm aware that this track it is not for Jazz purists but it is most popular in the Spiritual/groove music collector circuit and the original vinyl with the studio version is one of the most indemand Sun.Ra stuff.... I'm looking forward to hear a concert version of another Sun Ra Funky track "UFO" from the On Jupiter session ...Anyway , thanks a lot you made me so happy with these Sun Ra vintage sessions ..Cheers
