Wooe Nick, checking on discogs it seems that this album have been published in 99 copies, so it is incredible, once again "IS" is pushing the boundaries higher. The music is really personal and sounds like nothing else and Davie have a singular sound on saxophone, particularly on the soprano who sometimes sounds like an english horn. I wonder if it's a pity that it have been recorded with only one microphone or if it gives the music a more particular sound. The imperfection of the sound contribute to the global feeling.

There are a couple Alan Davie albums here, but would anyone have this one?

Thank you, Ernst!

I think we've now covered all of Davie's albums here except his duo with Tony Oxley.

That would be wonderful to have, too!

Thank you Ernst for this apparently very rare album.

Hi mike - we do not post music which isn't OOP. This CD should be still available from the producer Helma Schleif.

Thanks, Ernst, I did not know this, as the Discog website only shows this as being on Davie's own label.

OK mike, I see. BTW - when you're looking at a release on Discogs there's at the top right "All versions of this release". Click on it and other versions will be revealed (as long as other versions were released and / or added to Discogs' database).

Interesting to see the responses to this album. It was recorded at my place in our small cottage living room. The piano is my Broadwood Boudoir grand and the other players all lived locally. Alan and his wife Billie also lived near here then and he was a frequent visitor for music sessions. My copy of the 12" LP disc is definitely not for sale.
