LONDON MUSIC NOW "JAZZ FESTIVAL BERLIN 1972"

The first day of the 1972 edition of the Berlin Jazz Festival was reserved for musicians from the British Free Jazz/Improvisation scene. Several days ago (October 22) they all played also in Donaueschingen at the SWF-Jazz-Session. There the event was announced as 'London Music Now'.
I borrowed the title although I don't know wether it was used in Berlin.

Now that I have a chance to listen to this, it *is* amazing.

Is it possible that the Derek Bailey piece is called "The Lord Mayor's Show"?

Andy said...

@mattw. Or maybe a (pretty good) play on words?

Andy said...

Bailey using his two amps stereo setup. All sounds great! Thanks again.

what a spectacular offering!
i love buxton orr's presence here with this "ode"-era ljco. i guess guy gleaned what he needed from him and then became conductor himself? i happened upon one of buxton's original compositions for an X-rated film called "fiend without a face." it's worth hearing, as there are energies apparent that give sense how he fit in with the ljco. that and the climax of the film are quite enjoyable!
amazing stuff!
thanks!
