Thank you very much Onx. I didn't have these two pieces, so fresh Schoof is highly welcome!

Thanks again.

Willisau ran the 28. - 31. that year. Their list does not provide exact dates for the festival days, but shows an amazing array of music. http://www.jazzwillisau.ch/konzertliste.pdf

Thank you, JC for the correct date!

I'm extremely grateful to your blog for so much music that would have, otherwise never reached my ears. Schoof's music has been a revelation. Thanks also to all your contributing commenting members for their added insights and info.

Thanks for all the great Schoof. Both of these titles are from his second Japo LP, Light Lines -- the first is "Source" and the second is "Resonance." Thanks again!

ditto the love for these wonderful Schoofs!

interesting snippets of Schlipp and Schoof at this site: http://wolffifth.blogspot.com/2012/05/132-zeitgenossische-musik-6-1983.html

These snippets stem from three LPs which were released prior to the LP at "Wolf Fifth".
The track Cadenza is from the Wergo LP by the Manfed Schoof Sextet
> http://inconstantsol.blogspot.de/2010/10/manfred-schoof-sextet-wergo-flac.html (link still working!).
The track from Schlippenbach is from the "Living Music" (FMP 0100) LP from FMP and later on Atavistic's Unheard Music imprint.
Finally the Brötzmann Trio with the title "Filet Americaine". The track is from "Balls" FMP 0020 - later also on Atavistic's Unheard Music Series. Recently re-issued on Cien Fuegos as LP.
...yes these are interesting snippets.

just read in an article about Michel Portal from 1973 that he performed with Manfred Schoof in Nürnberg 1970!
Wonder whether that can be confirmed in one way or the other. By the way, here did you get your lineup from?

Hi Johann - it is quite simple. I got the line-up infos with the recordings through trading.

Recordings of Manfred Schoof are never boring. The Wilisau performance is very interesting by the fact that it is a bing medley of some of his important composition of the time. is it normal that the Willisau performance stop suddenly?

@ Nod Y - sadly that's all I have from this concert. Maybe some day more will surface........
