Mark E. Rappaport addd some more information about this gig in the comments a bit downstream.: "Ned Rothenberg played three successive nights at the Shinjuku Pit Inn in Tokyo from March 3 to 5, 2006. Day 1 featured Ned (alto saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, shakuhachi) with Masahiko Satoh (piano) and Yuji Takahashi (piano, laptop). I would guess this recording is from that gig."

Ned Rothenberg played three successive nights at the Shinjuku Pit Inn in Tokyo from March 3 to 5, 2006. Day 1 featured Ned (alto saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, shakuhachi) with Masahiko Satoh (piano) and Yuji Takahashi (piano, laptop). I would guess this recording is from that gig.
