SYLVANO BUSSOTTI "IL NUDO" (WERGO, 1969)

 

 

 "Il nudo" consists of four fragments. Alongside Liliana Poli, fragment one features piano and string quartet, two and three feature string quartet, and on four Poli is the sole performer. "Phrase à trois" is for string trio.

Many thanks for this –– and what excellent timing for me as well: Bussotti's work never appealed to me, despite continual attempts on my part to explore it. Over the past month, I suddenly began to enjoy his RARA Requiem (in the Deutsche Grammophon and Col Legno recordings) as well as a CD of his piano music. I look forward to hearing more of these works from his most prolific period. Thsnk you!
