I wonder about that date of 1999. It's the same quartet as features on "New Today, New Everyday", recorded in Paris, also by Duboc, in May and June, 2009:

That's correct Colin. But the scans of the booklet and the label's website say 1999.
I assume these guys played a lot of concerts over the years and where probably a kind of working group.

They do indeed, but it wouldn't be the first time someone's got their years wrong - it's an easy slip and NoBusiness Records do it regularly. It was however, only a thought.

I tried to contact Bennani about the availability of some of those JaZt Tapes recordings, as suggested by the website, but never got a response.

thanks Ernst from Another Bennani Fan, i was told by the chief of Improvising Beings in Paris that there was a possibility of some of these tapes being reissued possibly as digital releases oin bandcamp... so some great news on the horizon!
