MODERN JAZZ QUINTET KARLSRUHE "LIVE IN FRANKFURT, 1970"

Here is the promised MJQK from the 12th German Jazzfestival in Frankfurt, Germany.
Fo more information you can go to ...
http://inconstantsol.blogspot.com/2010/09/moder-jazz-quintet-karlsruhe-trees.html (this was my first post on IS, almost one year ago...).

The title "Position 2001" is a live version of "Position 2000" from the second and last album of this fascinating group.

Why are you sucha goddamn FLAC nazi? Allow folks the option of how they wanna choose to download music. Like Ricardo. And most other blogs. Most of this stuff you post was recorded and/or pressed in less-than-optimum conditions... WTF?

What a word - Nazi.
Do you even know what this is really about... I do not think so - under the Nazis there would be no such music as here on IS - provided for free...

You have the possibility of coverting flac or whatever into mp3 by yourself !?

I am not your servant!

All in all thank you for your deliberate comment...

BTW - this boot is not from the LP "Born Free" but a broadcast which sounds better than a rip from the LP could ever be....at least I hear a difference.

Too true, onx.

Under the nazis there was a word for it - entartete Kunst - or degenerate art - in English.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Degenerate_art

By the way, nazi is definitely one of the most overused words there are. But even a minimal sense of history would help.

I thank you greatly for the flacs and never cease to be amazed at the sense of entitlement and general ignorance that gets memorialized on the internet, not to mention those who seek mp3's. Even on a lousy recording you can hear what an mp3 encoding does to the sound vs. a flac (if one had ears that still work). Yes some don't have bandwidth, but if it is important enough one can find ways. I don't download any mp3's. That's a real waste.

The ignorance of history is a much broader cultural phenomenon (that one might think the internet would reduce, rather than increase, but so it is).

As others here note never take for granted (on any number of levels) that this music is shared.

So thanks again for your generosity in providing a lot of what is here.

Sorry, can't see a Rapidshare link or any other link that works, as per "New Links for Old Posts". Have I missed something? Keep up the great work on this Blog - Colin

Sorry! I meant the link to the LP
( http://inconstantsol.blogspot.de/2010/09/moder-jazz-quintet-karlsruhe-trees.html ) - this is a bootleg - but I shall renew the link soon.

At the risk of being deemed a 'comments nazi'*, I'm afraid this new link duplicates the Albert Mangelsdorff 4tet broadcast set - (I've forgotten what the station was in Frankfurt before the reorganisation into WDR).

*(images of has-beens on some recent nostalgia tv compilation programme, saying "you were nobody back in 2011 if you weren't accusing people of being some type of nazi on-line)

I wish I could have picked up (WDR) on my tranny under the blankets back in 1970

Hi tinpu lef. I won't re-up this as it was re-issued some weeks ago along with many more hours from the 1970 edition of the Frankfurter Jazz Festival.

It's somewhat pricey but it's a great collection...
