PERCUSSIVE UNITY - TOKYO, 30 APRIL 1977
1. Untitled.
2. Untitled.
3. Untitled.
Ryo Obata, percussion
Masayuki Nakai, electric guitar
Yasushi Ozawa, electric bass
Percussive Unity's first public performance at Meiji University's Izumi Campus, Classroom 6, on April 30, 1977. Part of the second concert in the Free Music Revolution series, organized by the Gendai Ongaku Semi.
The other performers were
Tatsuo Hattori (violin) & Satoshi Ashikawa (synth) duo
Lunatic Area - Satoshi Sonoda (guitar), Yasushi Ozawa (bass), Seigo Nakane (violin), Mitsuhiro Ueda (drums). A rehearsal track is included on Satoshi Sonoda - Early Works
Tsunemi Kurokawa (vocal, guitar)
The group is often called Percussive Unity Live, because of the cover of their sole LP release, Only Change Is Unchanging, but I think the cover just refers to the LP being a Percussive Unity live recording. In the memorial post about Satoshi Ashikawa on The Story of Chairs and contemporary promo flyers they are just called Percussive Unity.
Ryo Obata also used the names Susumo Obata and O'Bata and kindly gave me a CDr of the recording along with some of his solo CDs.

Thanks Nick, new to me.
Hey Nick - not only new but simply a fantastic post. Only a few days ago I listened to the LP for the first time. Excellent share.
Really appreciate this.
Nick is back with a heavy weight post. I never heard the lp so I don't know the music of this band but it' been a long time that I wanted to listen to the lp. Now it is a live and it seems very interesting, i've just listened quickly to the two first tracks, thanks very much for this post.
Thank you very much!
Great Music.
Sincerely
JRAC
