Wertman gives an impressive showing here! Sounds in the vicinity of Haden/Izenson. But to hold one's own and even direct things between bubbling reid and ferocious tyler is no small feat. Hip tunes, too. Could easily hear Frank Lowe slipping in here. Wertman passed away of cancer two months after this album was posted here.
