Thanks.

@ DoubleA - what do you mean with: "hmm.... only the 2 tracks?" ?

wightdj said...

Nice, I haven't seen or heard this since the '70s. Thanks.

The "hmm... only the 2 tracks" comment might have been referring too the fact that Rapidshare has become quite *stingy* for free users now that they are practically the only game in town.

Don't know if that was DoubleA's problem, but personally i tried to download this twice and the first time the d/l failed and the second time i only received the first four tracks.

Speaking of which, track A3 "Get Up" isn't included in the text posting, though it is in the download thankfully! That track has one of my favorite short drum solos/breaks of all time in the middle--too bad there's a significant skip right at the end of Blackwell's solo on this lp rip--oh well--still a fine record that has never been released on cd--and one that definitely deserves a listening!! --dandor

I DLd it again and it was fine. weird. Thanks again.

Same happened to me. Rapidshare has brakes now for free users but sometimes it is just too much. Long live mediafire!

kinabalu said...

You can say that again. I've tried four times with RapidShite to download another posting and got cut off every time. I guess they're trying to profit maximally from the fall-out of most of the competition (even though they are no better than megaupload or anybody else). Good lobbyists and clever lawyers?

boogieman said...

Same problem, I only get not even half of the file. Better stick to Mediafire (but for how long ?)

Fifth attempt - no luck. In its current state, RS is practically useless for non-account users!

Thanks, wonderful album.

At the 8th attempt It worked out (with Mozilla). I love Carlos Ward, thank you!

Very slow d/l, but worth the wait. Both Berger & Ward under-recorded. Thanks for this treat.

Thanks for the alternate links.

fileserve is up again! - and worked very well for me. Thank you!

DrEyescope said...

Thanks! For those who don't know yet- Rapidshare has reduced the speed for free users to 30kb/sec.
Miserable.

Thanks for the alternate links. RS has become useless, i haven't managed to DL anything from Rapidshare for the last few days. It slows down and cut. There aren't many alternate left. I'm afraid we're witnessing the end of the free-sharing era. It was too beautiful to last.

Thank you so much for this album. How is it possible that it isn't available on cd yet? The music is stunning and what an incredible collection of musicians! This album should be exposed to a larger audience.

I was lucky enough to get it via RS at first attempt. Great wild album, thanks onxidlib!

Sorry to be so demanding but was wondering if you have cover scans. Would love to read the liner notes on the back cover...
Thanks again for the opportunity to hear this!

Thank you for sharing this! It sounds like a cousin of the "Where Fortune Smiles" session Berger and Holland did with McLaughlin and Surman. Very nice!

Ernst Grgo Nebhuth said...

Yes a reissue on CD or so would be welcome.
This is one of the very few Milestone (Jazz) LPs which were obviously 'forgotten'.
