MASAHIKO TOGASHI & MASAYUKI TAKAYANAGI "PULSATION" (PADDLE WHEEL, 1983)

The collaboration between Masayuki Takayanagi and Masahiko Togashi yields some music which is quite special for both discographies. They never played in such a manner before or after.
Note: The rip has a continous buzzing and during the quieter parts a kind of crackling. I tried to remove it - but to no avail. Yet it is still a good listen (sonically) and a marvellous achievement by the musicians (musically!!).
Hopefully it will see a proper reissue...

Enjoy!

A tad too minimalist for my taste, but an interesting listen, nonetheless.

Thanks for your comments!

Probably someone can fix what I wasn't able to do and remove the buzzing...

Thank you. I've been gobbling up every bit of Takayanagi that Jinya Disc or Doubt Music has put out, but this one for unknown reasons has yet to see a proper reissue. Given the stature of the individuals involved I'd think this would be one of the first items reissued in his back catalog. I imagine their are licensing issues involved or other such matters preventing a reissue. If that's the case I hope these can be worked out as this is obviously music that demands a proper re-issue.

Many thanks for this rare share.
I have attended a number of performances over the years at Zojoji Temple (though not this one).
It has a fantastic atmosphere...

One fatass truck of thanks to you! This is pretty similar in intent to Bread And Roses from Kaul & Goldstein, I would say. Very interesting.

One of the Holy Grails! Sol seems to come up with a lot of them, congratulations.{Side note- Bozos computer skills are limited, doesn't know how to spell-check either!} Back in the day "CODA" magazine had a review of the then totally unknown, to me at least, japanese free jazz scene. Almost everything was impossible to find. In the last few years the floodgates have opened, and it has been SOOO rewading! These cats are the real deal, not wannabe gagsters!
