Are you sure about Lovens? I have Uwe Schmitt listed as drummer.
Excellent! Thank you very much.
A couple of our previous Pilz/Niebergall posts, both of them 1978, have had Uwe Schmitt as drummer: here and here.
Can't say anything definite about this one, but it is a 1978 concert, too. Any ideas?
about the drummer :
i was there taping the concert,
the Festival official program quotes Lovens as drummer, the Festival's review by our "Musica Jazz" (October '78 - A.Polillo) also quotes Lovens,
more i can't say.
The version I have starts with a stage announcement mentioning Uwe Schmitt. I'll download this to compare, thanks for providing this.
Listening now to my version, the drummer plays a preparation-free standard set (which is not very Lovens-like).
Hello!
Thnks for the opportunity of downloading a lot of extraordinary music.
If you want to visit my new blog I will try to give my little contribution with some music from my collection.
Superb. Thanks. Pilz plays the bass clarinet like a loping giraffe. Just wonderful.
