Nick!!! Thank you.... for this little flood of Itaru Oki.
There was so little on the web in regards to the death of Oki-san.
To me, he was such a major figure in the music.
Japan, France and beyond.
His tone and style. Maker of instruments. A true original.
Can't think of any recordings that he was a part of that I don't like.
Wish there were more recordings with Abdelhaï Bennani, Oki, Silva and Makoto Sato.
Really liked that quartet before Bennani died.
Thanks a bunch for making these posts.

There will be more, Jeff, there will be more. Abdelhaï earmarked tapes before his death, the demise of Improvising Beings prevented that, but the music is carefully preserved and there are projects.
What can I add to your eulogy. They were the very artists that prompted me to start a label! There are days when it's heavy that two of them are gone. We spent 22 years together. In such days all I have to do is to put on the tapes and feel the joy flow and heal.
