Did you get this one from the LJCO? https://inconstantsol.blogspot.de/2015/10/europaische-jazznacht-fussen_22.html

I just noticed that the date for this performance is given as 21 March 1991 in the post whereas the text file that is included says 22 March 1991. The two other pieces by the LJCO recorded at this event, Harmos and Theoria, are also listed as 22 March 1991. Assuming all three pieces are from the same day (most likely the 22nd) the complete would have lasted almost 3 hours!

Interestingly, I found that the synopsis on BBC Genome for the BBC Radio 3 broadcast on 1 July 1991 says:

"Second of three recordings: the 17-piece London Jazz Composers Orchestra in concert at the Shaw Theatre.
Brian Morton introduces Harmos by Barry Guy, the orchestra's director and bass-player."

https://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/b96cd73732784de3a32f2c5a78e090bd

Therefore I think that 'Double Trouble' was the first piece played at the performance, and might as well been the first of three recordings broadcast by the BBC. The respective Genome listing however is missing.

Dear propylaen2001. Thanks for spotting my deliberate mistake; Double Trouble and the George Lewis conduction piece (see under George Lewis (Ernst posted this for me before I became an author)) actually took place on 21st March 1991. Harmos and Theroria were on 22nd March. I don't know anything about BBC involvement; these were all recorded on a cassette player in my lap. Sleep easy. Andy (I think R Moore mentioned you)

Deliberate? Haha...good one!

Anyway, thanks for clarification.

Yes, I am in regular contact with Richard, swapping stuff...
Any objections sending him some of your recordings to add to the Jazz in Britain archives? I'm sure you are aware of this?

Joerg

Please do. I think we archived all the Mujician stuff. Thanks.
