TOMASZ STAŃKO / STU MARTiN / JANUSZ STEFAŃSKi - Fish Face (1973)

A real rarity requested recently. Fairly experimental session, with Stu Martin playing mostly percussive and alien-like synthesizer sounds and lines. Similar in feel to Dean / Gallivan / Wheeler - "The Cheque Is In The Mail" from 1977 on Ogun. Informative review of "Face Fish" and other recordings by Tomasz Stańko can be found on great Polish Jazz blog. Good sounding 256 kbps mp3 rip available yet - any upgrade is welcome.

Tomasz Stańko / Stu Martin / Janusz Stefański - Fish Face (PSJ 1974)

Janusz Stefański - drums

What a surprise, Milo02! I confess that I didn't know this record although I'm a big fan of Polish Jazz of the 60's and 70's. Mockrát Děkuji!

milos21l you could be using zippyshare or uploadmirrors as a second option for download they are easier to use and don't have download restrictions , ulozto does not work right . These are great posts but I never get a chance to hear them .

It's All Tunes To Me, I am sorry to hear that. I will check suggested sites, problem is that I need the one with simple upload manager due to slow connection at my home. I can also upload to Mega, but it seems to me various people (including me) experienced various difficulties with getting files from them. Can you specify your problem with Ulozto? BTW, they have no restrictions except captcha and no parallel downloads for free users. I appreciate your feedback.

Your reference to 'The Cheque Is In The Mail' caught my attention. I have that LP and have always enjoyed it. I am looking forward listening to 'Fish Face'. Many thanks.

Thanks for this, looking forward to listening. Rapidshare always works fine for me (apart from the recent permissions changes which caused some temporary turmoil) so I seldom use the alternatives. Big plus is no captcha, so I can just drop things into Jdownloader and leave them to simmer.

Mark, if you mean Tomasz Stanko / Adam Makowicz Unit (Poljazz 1976), I don't have it, unless it is on rutracker.org. Otherwise, Stanko's first album as a leader is "Music For K" ("K" stands for Krzystof Komeda) from 1970, same quintet as "Jazzmessage from Poland", recently posted by mew23 in Contributions section. "Music For K" is generally available, for example from here http://www.productsfrompoland.com/servlet/the-Music--fdsh--Polish-Jazz/Categories

Upkerry, that's where I found it...

...and BTW another alternative download option for torrent users. Rutracker now works without registration for files under 500 Mb and download is usually very quick. Thanks upkerry14.

So I noticed. Lots of pictures of a certain French actor, now honorary citizen of the land of (Des)putin.

Hi
I think that the links doesn't work anymore and the download is incredibly obscure. Do someone can re-up this album in flac and on 1F or drive ?

Miloš Latislav said...

Anonymous, ulozto link is still working. It directs you to Czech version of the page, you can switch to English language by clicking small flag in right upside.

Miloš Latislav said...

Sorry, they made a new look at ulozto, and there is no language switch. If you want English version, type ulozto.net instead of ulozto.cz in URL line.
