....Requests

Requests, broken links, re-ups and related topics go here. It may be easier for admins to be attentive to these topics if they are put here and not under the individual posts. There's no guarantee that we may be able to respond to everything, but we'll give it a try.

I've deleted the previous 'Requests' post as it was becoming a bit unwieldy.
I shall start the requests with the last one from the previous thread.

Does anyone have any of the Rypdal material that used to be available from Musica Degradata, but for which the links (RapidShare) are now dead? I'm particularly looking for the Radio Hous recording from Stockholm, which has an otherwise unreleased composition entitled "Fillmore," that's going to be on Henry Kaiser's upcoming Rypdal tribute record. But really, there's lots of great looking Terje stuff on there that's gone dead. Can anyone help? Thanks!

Regarding this post:
http://inconstantsol.blogspot.fr/2010/11/omci-contro-1975-lorchestra-olp-10004.html
If someone have the lp and could do a new rip... The actual file seems to comes from a lp previously recorded on a tape, the sound particularly on the last longer track moves from left to right for a while, typically what happen on some tapes.
In general if some want to share the others lp of O.M.C.I it would be great.
Thank in advance.

Hello folks,

Does anybody know if any recordings exist (whether official or not) of the late John Abercrombie in Chico Hamilton's group?
Any suggestions are welcome.

Ernst Grgo Nebhuth said...

Hi - I've checked my (re-)sources but didn't find any Abercrombie with Chico Hamilton.
Alas I have a friend who's a great admirer of Hamilton. I do not see him very often. But during the next few weeks we should meet. I'll ask him.
And I'm quite sure there's no official recording.

propylaen2001 said...

Ernst,
Thanks for checking.
As for official releases l'm also pretty sure there aren't any.
Looking forward to what your friend may come up with.

Ernst Grgo Nebhuth said...

Hi Tantris,
I remember that you've got a rip of this LP in May 2007 from the "jizz" blog.
Maybe you still have the rip? This would spare me to rip my own copy??

correct silence said...

Gosh - your memory is way better than mine! I shall check my archives this evening, and post it if I find it.

Tantris said...

Well, whaddyaknow, I have found the LP rip. It's in mp3 / 320kbps, has no scans, and has three tracks - Quartett, Ballade and Blues-Fasching. Based on discogs, this is side 2, with side 1's track Trio-Dimensionen missing. Still, better than nothing, I suppose;

Mega

It's been good to be prompted to find this, and to listen again.

correct silence said...

thanks a lot Tantris.

Ernst Grgo Nebhuth said...

Hi Tantris, my memory isn't necessarilly better than yours. I've found your comment through google....
However - after listening to the mp3 of side B I immediatelly ripped the LP in question.
The results may be examined by you later this evening.

A humble request:
Would it be possible for someone to re-up:
Sun Ra & Walt Dickerson Duo - Live Haverford College
I've listened to their CD 'Visions' a lot over the years, so it would be really interesting for me to hear what they did in a live context.
Thank you in advance.

Ernst Grgo Nebhuth said...

Hi Pierre,
I do not have the recordingg with Sun Ra + Walt Dickerson - at least I can't recall a dl on my side...
Maybe someone else might be able to help with a new link.
I believe it was posted originally in the contributions section.

correct silence said...

Hi Pierre
I've also enjoyed very much the duo Ra/Dickerson on lp but have been very disappointed by the concert that you search. If my memory is well they don't play together, Dickerson open with a long solo vibraphone and Sun Ra follow with some shorter tracks played also solo on a electric piano. I remember that I was not able to listen to the music until the end of the concert, that is why I haven't kept it, just wanted to give you some informations and an opinion about this live.

pierre d'alai said...

OK, propylaen, I trust your judgement. If what you say is true, then the concert recording is not so essential. Thanks for the input -- I appreciate it.

propylaen2001 said...

At first, I was confused until I realized that you are not refering to something I posted but to correct silence's evaluation on that Sun Ra + Walt Dickerson recording.

pierre d'alai said...

@mew23:
Thank you for the link, and I apologize for such a late response.
There are 10 tracks in all, but 2 are only MC announcements. It opens with a long solo by Walt Dickerson, on vibes of course -- and since it's 25 minutes long, it amounts to having a new unreleased Walt Dickerson EP. And then Sun Ra plays half a dozen relatively short tunes, solo. Since they tend to be familiar (e.g. Love in Outer Space, Over the Rainbow), they're actually very charming, especially since he's playing electric piano. The two of them play together only at the end, for about 15 minutes; it sounds a bit tentative, as though they hadn't rehearsed or even discussed what they'd do, but if this had been included as a bonus track on the 'Visions' CD, I wouldn't have known the difference. All in all, it's indeed worth hearing.

Any chance of re-uping some Lee Konitz sessions? There is the Konitz/Lacy session from March 1984 as well as the Konitz/Bley trio from 2002.

Also anyone have the Pinguin Moschner "Tuba Love Story?"

No news from her actually. When I got in touch with her, obviously she was not at home. She told me that she will get back to me if she find some copies left, but since now, no news.

Hi kevinass - the Hekura LP was reissued in 2015 as an expanded edition on Sub Rosa.
It's still available > https://www.discogs.com/Yanomami-Lost-Shadows-In-Defence-Of-The-Soul-Yanomami-Shamanism-Songs-Ritual-1978/release/6955777
We do not post readily available recordings.

I am looking for John Carter "Dance of the Love Ghosts". It seems to have been OOP for quite a long time. Is anyone able to share it, please? FLAC would be ideal, but MP3 would be a close second best. I would be very grateful, as it is an album I have been wanting to hear for ages.

correct silence said...

You seem to be the only one to have problems with 1fichier, at least for now no other message has reported problems. Instead of suspecting 1fichier of evil attitude you'd better proceed with the following steps:
1 try using another web browser, 2 ask someone who lives in the same area to do a test, 3 contact 1fichier to report the problem.
I am not here to defend 1fichier but it does not seem very judicious to generalize a problem which for the moment seems to be individual.

miloo2 said...

I am not generalizing problem, correct silence. I am sharing my repeated experience. So thank you for advice, you are the first one replying. It is possible that some corps are misusing 1f for phishing just in CZ area. It depends on operation system, browser and internet provider I believe. I am using Opera, which is safe and stable. Also tried mozilla with same result. But hackers are never sleeping, you know? Other thing I was trying to say is that www.ulozto.net has no attached agenda on their host, at last not here in Czech.

Ernst Grgo Nebhuth said...

Hi Milo,
I haven't experoenced what you describe with 1fichier. But I'm always logged in at 1fichier. I have a payed account with them.
But in general I can say that I have (little) problems with Zippyshare and Mediafire with similar problems.
I hope the problem your describing concerning 1fichier will vanish soon.
To use another filehoster would be quiet annoying. I have some hundreds of files parked with 1fichier.
It would need quiet a labour to 1. dl my files and 2. upload again to another hoster.
This I'd already once with Rapidshare....

If possible I try to avoid such an action.
Also I do not keep files from CDs in my collection. Only vinyl/cassette rips and RIOIs are my hd's. I would have to re-rip many of my CDs again - no way!

Scraps said...

I have problems with 1fichier, and I've posted some of them, too. It's mostly minor problems, that I can take care of myself, but I know that less experienced users could be compromised. That is true for most of the putting-up-your-music sites, and 1fichier is better than most. But they are far from perfect, and I'm sympathetic to Miloš Latislav.

correct silence said...

@Milo
To continue on this subject, if I were in your situation, I will start by asking someone living in the same region, to make a download attempt, first with the same ISP and then with another ISP provider. 'access. It would obviously help to understand where the problem is coming from and if all the people you asked for have the same problems, 1fichier would probably be interested to know that there are accessibility problems on their site. according to certain regions. This is always how it is done, otherwise you will never know if the problems you encounter come from your computer, your browser, your service provider or 1fichier.

@ correct silence,
here are the requested re-ups of LP rips from '9 grey chairs'

John Fischer - 6x1=10 Duos For A New Decade
https://1fichier.com/?jye2cbupu3

Interface - Live at Environ
https://1fichier.com/?x20hurjfyo

Karl Berger - With Silence
https://1fichier.com/?hjk74u78ao
(Track B-1 is truncated in the original archive so I added a mp3 version from another blog.)

@ Milos,
to avoid annoying pop-up windows or possible malware infections from certain file hosters you might consider using a download manager like JDownloader or Mipony instead of manually starting the downloads from your browser.

miloo2 said...

OK mew, I will re-up on uloz.to and I will be fine:) BTW, I am using Sophos Home, which eliminates malware, Opera who eliminates ads and pop ups, AndY who watches my PC + drives, etc. Still 3rd try in 2steps from 1fichier hosted worms (or mssngrz?) via UPC czech republic.

yeah Mew23 Still on top of the game!

@Milo
You should read more carefully, my preview message had absolutely no relation with you or your problems to download, I used a sort of metaphoric sentence to thank Mew23 to his great contributions. Almost each time I have asked a re-post from i"is" or from another blog, Mew23 answered very fast with the post requested, so take it easy I was not talking about you.

miloo2 said...

But I was talking about you, Correct Silence. About your short Thank You statement made onto Metaphoric sentence, correctly said. You can think about it.
