ReplyDeleteThe Ubu Roi blogspot once provided two interesting "historic" concert recordings from the Berliner Jazztage:
1)
George Russell Group
Berliner Jazztage 1970
Berlin (DE), Philharmonie
November 5, 1970
and 2)
Don Ellis - Berlin Dream Band
Berliner Jazztage 1968
Berlin (DE), Philharmonie
November 8, 1968
Of course are the links dead since years - bute maybe some has these files and could upload them again...
I'm searching for "Hekura - Yanomamo Shamanism From Southern Venezuela" on David Toop's Quartz Publications !QUARTZ 004 (LP).
ReplyDeleteLossless would be desired but a high quality mp3 will be appreciated as well.
Ah yes - these would be appreciated as well:
ReplyDeletePeter Van De Locht, Boy Raaijmakers "At Different Times" Group-Music Productions – ES 46 136
Fred van Hove "I-II-III" Edition Explico – exp 06
now, the yanomamo lp would be VERY welcome!!! guess it's rare as hell, only released in the 70's in small quantities...
ReplyDeleteI would love a re-up of this Nels Cline/Jeff Parker show: http://inconstantsol.blogspot.no/2008/01/nels-clinejeff-parkernate-mcbridefrank.html

ReplyDeleteOh yes - thank you very much, Lucky!
ReplyDeleteFinally I can hear the whole ceremony.................
Hey guys, you all do a magnificent job here and it is always a pleasure to follow your blog and of course a treasure!!
ReplyDeleteI have a question, maybe it is possible for you to find some better sounding versions of those two albums? Mal Waldron - Signals & Amina Claudine Myers - Poems for Piano - The Music of Marion Brown. I only have some very scratchy vinyl rips of those two. Thanks in advance,
Cheers

I have been looking for some Andrew White. Seems impossible to find... I would greatly appreciate any of his albums from the '70s. The stuff I've heard on YouTube sounds awesome!

ReplyDeletethanks very much for the G. Russell & D. Ellis uploads !!!
Always heard so much good things about Sean Bergin's 'Kids Mysteries' - strangely very obscure compared to the Brotherhood of Breath stuff that preceeded it. Anybody care to post?
ReplyDeleteAlso, another lost intrigue:
K. Curtis Lyle & Julius Hemphill's "The Collected Poems For Blind Lemon Jefferson"
The above two were released on LP in the 70s/80s and are now not available.
John Wolf Brennan Hextet's '...Through the Ear of a Raindrop'
was released as a CD but sold out according to Leo Records
The last one was on this blog but the links are dead: Max roach and the World Saxophone Quartet
Thanks!

ReplyDeleteIt is? Good homework there, Onx. I'll wipe it.
ReplyDeleteI'm searching for Don 'Sugarcane' Harris - Keyzop, MPS 1975
ReplyDeleteI was hoping someone could give me a "top 10 or 20" titles that Free Jazz/Avant Garde fans need in their collection. I'm fairly new to this music and other than the obvious Albert Ayler, Pharoah Sanders, Ornette Coleman, popular albums...I am a bit overwhelmed by all the artists represented here.
ReplyDeleteThank You
A New link, please (NOT Rapidshare) for Archie Shepp - Live at the Donaueschingen Music Festival (1967)
ReplyDeleteYou are doing a great service here--many thanks. I would love to see a re-up of Radigue's Adnos I-III.
ReplyDeleteHi guys
ReplyDeleteYour are my last resort. I'm searching desperately for the following recording:
Titles: Rhythmbox Part 1 and Part 2 (live recordings)
Musicians: Peter Brötzmann (for sure), Han Bennink (for sure), Fred van Hove (almost sure) and later Albert Mangelsdorff joined in.
Date: the concert must have been around the mid 1970-ies, somewhere in Germany
I recorded this once onto mono reel tape (long gone) from a radio broadcast on SWF 2 (or 3), moderated by Achim Hebgen.
Any information / help (or even better: a copy) would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all on this blog for keeping this music from getting lost.
George
@ Unknown
ReplyDeleteAdnos I-III has been re-issued by Important Records.

Many other Radigue titles are currently in print on Important, Alga Marghen, Lovely, etc.
Robert
@George: I've looked in the archives to see if I could find something that fits the description. The only thing I have come up with is this one:
ReplyDeletePETER BROTZMANN
ALBERT MANGELSDORFF
FRED VON HOVE
HAN BENNINK
Quartier Latin
Berlin, Germany
10/31/73

2. 9:09
3. 11:17
4. 15:26
5. 22:28

TT 68:25
It has the four musicians, but the date isn't exactly the mid-70s. It's an audience recording and not something recorded by a radio station, so probably not the one you're looking for. Still, quite fine, all the same.
Thanks, Robert. I was going to say that, but you got there ahead of me. I posted this item a few years back, a download from the net, and decided to get my own copy once it became available again. However, the packaging is quite different, so I thought I might at least repost the original artwork from the Table of the Elements release. So here it is:

Hey Folks, can anyone reup, the 4th disc of Baden Baden 69?, both the gamefront and RS links are dead... i'm so bummed out i missed that one!

Dear Sol-sters,
ReplyDeleteI've heard that there might be recordings of Julius Hemphill's "Long Tongues" floating around out there. Does anyone have any leads, or possibly a copy?
Also, I asked in the comments on the album page, but if Hemphill's Dogon AD with the Hard Blues track could be reuploaded? I'm pretty sure that the reissue from 2011 is OOP now.
Thank you & Cheers!
@Sotise: Sure. New links at the original post.

ReplyDeleteSearching for the Phil Wilson Quartet's Prodigal Son, a 1968 release on Freeform Records that features Leonard Hochman, George Moyer, and Tony Sarni. ReplyDeleteHi guys. Thanks so much to Andy (and Paul Dunmall) for all the DUNS CDr uploads. I already owned about a third of them and it has been great to complete the collection. I intend to put a little box/folder together to put on the shelf alongside my 50 disc Dunmall FMR box. One can never have too much Dunmall!
ReplyDeleteNotwithstanding the DUNS albums licensed to Cadence Jazz for itunes sales (off to grab them now), is the collection here complete though? I couldn't find DLE015 (which I'm pretty sure isn't one of the Cadence Jazz licensed titles). Any chance of that being being added too?

ReplyDeleteLooking for "Esoteric" featuring Phillip Wilson and Olu Dara on Hat Hut. Anyone have it by chance?
ReplyDeleteFWIW the reason I couldn't find it was I had been searching under the "label" page for DUNS -
ReplyDeletehttp://inconstantsol.blogspot.com.au/search/label/Duns%20Limited%20Edition
and also a manual search for "DLE015".Since all the other DUNS titles are listed under the DUNS label, and include the DLE### (DUNS### for the first few) catalogue number I expected this one to be filed this way as well. No worries. I have it now. Many thanks again!

Listening to it, I have to say I really enjoy it. Many humorous takes on Lester Bowie with Olu Dara in a sense substituting for the man himself. Philip Wilson did a duo with Bowie on another occasion which is well worth seeking out.

ReplyDeleteSteve Lacy / Michel Waisvisz / Han Bennink / Maarten Van Regteren Altena – Lumps ???

HI Alex - "Lumps" is included in the ICP box - therefore no posting here on IS.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kinabalu and Inconstant Sol. I appreciate the file and your comments. It is revealing to hear this duo on the heels of the Lester Bowie duet on Paul Bley's label Improvising Artists. I was in studio with them when they recorded that and think it's a shame they never released the rest of the music they put down that day. Esoteric is beautiful music, glad I get a chance to enjoy it. Phillip was an amazing musician and person. Olu was a good player. Peace
ReplyDeleteIs there any chance someone could make Jack DeJohnette's New Directions - Live in Lovere '79 available somewhere other than Rapidshare? That link doesn't work at all for me and I don't want to subscribe to them for fear of spam/spyware.

ReplyDeleteI dumped Rapidshare after they decided to charge 50 Euro for one week of hosting files. Eventually they decided to dump me as well. Even the alternative free account was deleted. Good riddance to them! I'm not aware that there's any spyware issue with them, but what do I care!
Hang on, I wrote one week up above, but it should have been one month which doesn't really make it more palatable, does it? Simply smart? - my ass!

Mr. Nick, you have made my day!!! Thank-you!!!
ReplyDeleteWas hoping to get some help. Have been looking for Masayuki Takayanagi Angry Waves - Dislocation and 850113. A few holes in my collection of this very important artist. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all your hard work on this great blog.
ReplyDeleteHi Jeff
ReplyDeleteYou can buy those from Japanimprov cd shop, they ship worldwide. We don't post commercially available music.
Thanks Nick. Went to record co. Web site seemed to be oop. I will check Japan improv.
ReplyDeleteIn the last few months I discovered the jazz poet Jayne Cortez(once to Ornette Coleman). I have now three of her albums ("Celebrations and Solitudes", "There It Is", "and "Maintain Control"), and they're all excellent and electric.
ReplyDeleteBut boy, I can't find at all the others:
"Unsubmissive Blues"
"Everywhere Drums"
"Women In (E) Motion Festival - Poetry & Music"
"Cheerful & Optimistic"
"Taking The Blues Back Home"
"Borders Of Disorderly Time"
I would be so grateful for any of the albums, from 128 to flac, I don't care.
Thank you so much.
(I'm sorry, I meant "once =married= to Ornette Coleman".)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI recently posted a comment about Push, Pull. I was also wondering if it would be possible to put up a vinyl rip of Jimmy Lyons' "Jump Up". I know that Hat Hut re issued it and it is still in print but they left off one of the tracks from the vinyl release.

ReplyDeleteThe "Four Compositions" (1973) on Denon is NOT!!!! on the Arista box-set from Mosaic Records.
ReplyDeleteThe name is "Arista Box"....
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@James Flagg: The request from dogon ad was for a re-up of the Steve Miller Trio and not Amthony Braxton, so if you went looking for Braxtion, no wonder you couldn't find it.
ReplyDeleteThe Braxton Four Compositions was out on Denon in Japan, so obviously could not be part of the Arista box set on Mosaic. To add to the confusion, the Complete Braxton 1971 which came out on Arista Freedom is also not a part of the box set, possibly for contractual reasons.
http://www.discogs.com/Anthony-Braxton-The-Complete-Braxton-1971/release/2016433
By the way, the link for Braxton is at the original post.
http://inconstantsol.blogspot.no/2011/05/anthony-braxton-four-compositions-1973.html
The info page at the Mosiac Records site is weak on solid information, so it's not clear what exactly is in the box.
Discogs is, as usual, much better.
http://www.discogs.com/Anthony-Braxton-The-Complete-Arista-Recordings-Of-Anthony-Braxton/release/1521045
The info on the Tom Hull site is fully correct. No misinformation there at all. Nuff said on this! Nice site for us Braxtonians, though.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@James Platt: That Google thing had me confused, I have to admit. Good to see that we got that sorted out. Enjoy the Braxton. I have the record, so perhaps I should dig it out and give it another listen.
ReplyDeleteWe have posted a lot of Braxton over the years, so if there's anything else you would like to hear, feel free to make a request. I suspect many of the links have lapsed.
I know this is not a normal request, but could somebody please tell me if this Bobby Few at 1:25?

Thank you.
Yes, it does look like Bobby Few. And he's playing the piano.

ReplyDeleteHi Jim,
ReplyDeleteI'm able to supply you with four items on your first list. I can't find the Antibes 75, so let me join you in a request for a re-up of that one, if anyone has it.
I'm less sure about the second list. Were they records or unreleased concerts? I don't think we have posted any of those.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@Jim: Yes, I'm aware that Antibes has been posted here. What I meant to say is that I don't have it or at any rate can't find it.
ReplyDeleteThe Four Orchestras is part of the Mosaic box set which is still available, so we may have to skip that.
I've located copies of the Dortmund and Prag, but have to check whether they're genuinely oop.
So I'll start at the top of the list and work downwards.

ReplyDeleteI've got a bit of an odd request for the IS folks: Does anyone have a rip of Kamikaze Ground Crew's cassette-only "Live at Dance Theatre Workshop"?
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful blog! Thank you for all the Yamashita, it's blowing my mind. I had a few requests--none of them are strictly free-jazz or avant, but they incorporate elements.
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody had any of Roland Hanna's out-of-print releases, other than those listed on this site (like "Memoir" or "Last Concert"), any of Denny Zeitlin's out-of-print albums (like "As Long As There's Music" or "Soundings"), or Geoffrey Keezer's "Other Spheres"?
Basically, everything I'm looking for (with the exception of Zeitlin) are Japanese releases...which leaves me wondering, is there a specialty blog that just has Japan-only releases of albums, whether or not they are made by Japanese musicians? It seems like all the albums I really want are weird imports I can't find anywhere.
@Jim: I trust your research, so here they are:

Mind you, I'm posting them as I found them, two contiguous files in the ape format, but you can play individual files using the VLC media player, which I would recommend to any and it's free of charge.

ReplyDeletePlease help - I re-upped the Free Jazz Workshop Wuppertal 1979.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it has happened what all digital files might face - the end of track four is full of digital 'clicks'.
Maybe someone who has downloaded then has a version which is whithout these annoying sounds.
I have two versions but both are defect.
Some help would be appreciated > http://inconstantsol.blogspot.de/2013/09/free-jazz-workshop-79-wuppertal.html (track 4 only)
Thanks in advance.
hi onxidlib, i checked my copy and found the same issue. hopefully this is not the fate of all digital files (though the recent discovery of digital rot in a slew of criterion collection blu-ray titles is very disconcerting). i associate the particular problem at hand with the "music cdr" format—the special cdrs required for use with free-standing/home stereo cd burners—which usually works well enough but ocassionally proves unstable and leads to digital clicks that become worse as playback approaches the end of the cdr runtime. it seems the problem gets copied to subsequent generations of the file, so i suspect the cdr that is the source of the upload also has the clicks. either way, we live in an entropic universe and everything is falling into disorder. "le prince d'aquitaine a la tour abolie/these fragments i have shored against my ruins"
ReplyDeleteRobert
Thanks Robert for your help.
ReplyDeleteI still have hope to get it somewhere else.
It is possible to clean the recording but it's time consuming.
However - shall I get a better version I will immedialtely post it - this way one version might survive a bit longer without those annoying signs of entropy....
Cheers
Hi onxidlib,
ReplyDeleteI checked my file 4 of the Free Jazz Workshop Wuppertal '79 and it seems to be okay - just posted it under:
http://www34.zippyshare.com/v/41651136/file.html
Some time ago I downloaded the Radio Jazz Group Stuttgart session from June 1977 (with Christmann/Parker/Schlippenback/Dauner/Kowald/Lovens/Lytton) from UbuRoi (I guess). I found that (especially) tracks 4 and 5 were in a bad condition with plenty of very short continuous gaps obviously caused by too excessive use of noise reduction tools. They tend to (often with their default settings) not only remove noise and clicks but also lower frequencies and in quiet parts it sounds as if there is something cut out.
Since the music of this RJGS session is so excellent I decided to remove the gaps manually (!) and improve the sound as far as it was possible (the latter including also tracks 1 - 3).
This RJGS 77 session later appeared here on InconstantSol but contained the same files.
I may upload my improved "remixes" next time and if you think they are okay you can add them or remove the old damaged ones.
Great! Thank you Rasimov for the re-up of track 4.
ReplyDeleteIt seems you have this from another source because your track 4 is - at the end - about two minutes shorter than the one I have.
But at least without those clicks.
Thank you!
And yes - I would be interested to hear your 'remixed' version of RJGS's June 1977 recording.
Cheers
I know I'm going out on a limb here, but can anyone post Goteborgs Musikkvartett - Aftara?

Can we get Rasimov on the main page?
ReplyDeletehi everybody
ReplyDeletedoes anybody have hozan yamamoto ginkai-silver world, would love to hear it again since his passing
thanks
I would like to request any Art Lande you might have, specifically any live bootlegs from back in the 70s or 80s. I did get the Carla Bley link to work, thanks as always for all the great uploads!
ReplyDeleteIntercommunal Free Dance Music Orchestra's LPs #1,2,4 & 6 all seem to have dead links. If it is possible a new set would be lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the music!
Hi
ReplyDeleteI'm after a couple of rare Rolf Kuhn albums - "Creation" & "Devil in Paradise".
"Creation" is already here but the links have gone.
Any chance of a re-up.......?
If not then thanks again for all your hard work in making this wonderful music available.
@Renard: I'll see if I can have them up again this weekend.
ReplyDeleteHello, any possibility that UNI TRIO (rehearsal extract, 1968)can be re-upped. It sounds like a wonderful artifact. Thanks if possible.
ReplyDeleteI just know that one of you is sitting on a crystalline recording of this:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/oct/21/evan-parker-and-the-necks-review
hideo
@kinabalu
ReplyDeleteMany thanks! They make some cheery music, don't they?
Another attempt to ask for a recordings I am looking for since ages:
ReplyDeleteWolfgang Dauner & Jasper van't Hof Duolectrics at Donauschingen Festival 1974
There use to be plenty of interesting avantgarde jazz recordings of the 60ties & 70ties in Donaueschingen but rarely available anywhere (other than NDR Workshops, Berlin Jazz Festival recordings etc.)
Was hoping for a possible re-up of Charles Tyler Definite Vol. 1 & Vol. 2. This would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
ReplyDeletecould you possibly re-upload the 2 "texture sextet" albums?
ReplyDeletehttp://inconstantsol.blogspot.com/search?q=texture+sextet

I have an unusual request for this blog--the
ReplyDeletelate Mal Dean was a brilliant artist and
musician who died tragically young. Among
his works was a series of record reviews, I
think for the British journal Records and
Recording, mostly of avante garde jazz of
the late 60's and early 70's-FMP, Derek
Bailey, etc His writing was brilliant and hilarious.
Is there anyone could share any of his reviews?
(or his art for record covers?)
Anybody has this double vinyl set from the Altena New Jazz Meeting 1972:

ReplyDeleteI think I must have the Altena Festival 1972 recording... Sometime ago I received a set of Altena festival files from a friend and I am very sure that this one was among them. I'll check it and make an upload.
Yep - Altena 72 (Burg Altena Jazz Festival 1972 double album) is available - I just uploaded it together with a selection from another record called "Remembering Altena 70" (Sides 2 + 3) - FLAC files:

Hi Rasimov,
ReplyDeletethank you for the Altena '72!!
"Remembering Altena 70" was posted (also side 2 + 3) by me some years ago.
It is still available along with "Internationales New Jazz Meeting Auf Burg Altena 1970".
http://inconstantsol.blogspot.de/2011/07/internationales-new-jazz-meeting-auf.html
Wow, excellent! Thanks so much Rasimov77! May I ask you to also upload the Xhol Caravan tune from side 4? That would be great as this tune was not included in the Garden of Delight cd release.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone have Casselberry-DuPreé's City Down?
ReplyDelete@ propylaen2001
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I only have sides 2 + 3 of "Remembering Altena 70" - I am also interested in the Xhol Caravan track from side 4 as well as some tracks of the "Remember Sixty-Nine" record (Joachim Kühn Group, Dave Pike Set, Xhol Caravan etc.).
What I can offer additionally is: Altena New Jazz Meeting 1971 (I guess it's already available here) and Balver Höhle New Jazz Program 1974-75 (a 4-records compilation - JG 36-39)
Hi Rasimov - it would be very nice if you could upload JG 36-39.
ReplyDeleteAltena New Jazz Meeting 1971 is still available with working links >
http://inconstantsol.blogspot.de/2012/06/2-internationales-new-jazz-meeting-auf.html
I second that emotion: JG 36-39 would be a nice addition! Thanks in advance.

Could someone please re-up MIROSLAV VITOUS "GREEN LINE" (STORYVILLE, 1970)? Thanks very much!
ReplyDeleteHi I was wondering if it was not too much trouble to make a request for two records
ReplyDelete1.) Dudu Pukwana - Sounds Zila
2.) Atte - Sondela
Thanks
Really love the blog and what you're doing.
Much love from South Africa
@Dustin: I posted those two, so that should be no problem.
ReplyDeleteAny possibility of re-upping the Count Basie links (especially FLAC)?

(This Night And Day, it looks like all 12 sets are unavailble, above link is only to set 1)
Thanks!
George Lane, do you mean that you would like all twelve night and day? Or perhaps just one or a few to try first, to see if the project's gonna be a keeper? Does that make sense? :-)
DeleteAh also, this is not on this blog, but as a special request, does anyone have this Monk's Casino show?
ReplyDeleteHere is the original link: http://ubu-space.blogspot.com/2009/06/monks-casino-hamburg-1999.html
Mil gracias!
Steve Lacy – 10 Of Dukes + 6 Originals
ReplyDeleteSenators Records – SEN-01
Would be very welcome, thanks
Hello Nick,
DeleteFYI, the "senators" are apparently still selling that through the site http://senatorsrecords.free.fr for the equivalent of fifteen euros? It seems to have only ever been obtainable through their site and no other outlet.
Aloha
Bulkang, well, if possible, I'd like all 12 sets, since I already know this one is going to be a keeper!
ReplyDeleteAlso, just two more requests, then I will stop...
http://inconstantsol.blogspot.com/2012/04/licorice-factory-self-titled.html
And another one not on this blog but hopefully someone out there has it: http://intoabluehaze.blogspot.com/2012/11/aki-takases-new-blues-project-live-in.html?showComment=1406335994729#c3757240424197110116
The was a post of a live recording by Ken Vandermark's Free Fall. Could this be re-upped.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine is looking for Rainer Brüninghaus/Markus Stockhausen/Fredy Studer at Jezzfest Berlin 1982 or any other recordings from this trio.
ReplyDeleteI'd appreciate if anybody here could help.
Thanks in advance.
Joerg

ReplyDeleteHi Jim,
ReplyDeleteI think the first two groups should be doable, not so sure if I downloaded the third group, but I might have. I'll find out.
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@Jim:
ReplyDeleteThe Silvas are OK, so they can be reactivated.
The Cecil Taylor is OK as well, but there appears to be two posts which overlap to some degree.
As I suspected, I didn't download the Stockhausen Licht-collage, so can't help you there. I did post a "remake" of "Aus den sieben Tagen," so that can always be reposted.
http://inconstantsol.blogspot.no/2009/09/stockhausen-aus-den-sieben-tagen.html
Finally, I don't think we have posted the Hampel lp, or at any rate, I wasn't able to find it. I do have the lp, though, so that could be a future post.

ReplyDeletePlease re-up the Andrew Cyrille Live in Florence solo gig. Both the mp3 and FLAC links in the original post lead to an iLivid download manager download instead of the audio files.
ReplyDelete@Jim: The Gunter Hampel is a high quality mp3, 320 kbps, which as good as it gets within that format.

ReplyDeleteI have been asked for a recording from Jimmy Jackson's Haboob in Stuttgart ca. 1970.
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know if such a thing exists?
Hello,
ReplyDeleteAny chance of getting a reup for Bill Dixon – 1982 Edizioni Ferrari?
Thank you.
