Thanks for offering this up for the world to enjoy if they have half a brain...! Tony was an extremely advanced drummer who doesn't yet get 1/10th the honor and recognition he deserves for a seamless union of Elvin Jones with the Oxley/Stevens/Lytton axis, in the clown's not-so-humble opinion. {Maybe a little humility is in order: just took 3 tries to spell opinion proberly!

Muzo forgot to add that the cover art for this ur-release is awesome! Very evocative of the robot thing, colours very nice and just plain ol'jolly fun to look at; with a deep yet relaxing vibe - which circles back to Mujician, don't it! Never heard such a blasting yet contemplative vibe going on at the same time.

Thanks Andy, a great second set here. Will the first one also be posted ?

Robot thing Bozo? :) Actually I didn't put much thought into the cover picture this time. I just had a look in a photo folder and there it was. I put a bit of a green tint over it. You might recognise it as being used before on the cover of Bebop Starburst by the Paul Dunmall Octet (Cuneiform). It's a painting I did when I was a long haired, pretentious art student in 1973. Some years after, I visited the college and it was still there in a cupboard, so I had it and it's been on my wall(s) ever since. Every so often I paint over it with a white wash. Eventually it will disappear.

Thanks for your praise for Mujician. My posts of them here don't get as much interest as you might imagine. Pearls I give them.

I'm amazed if the Mujician posts don't get much interest - they're the jewel in the crown of inconstantsol as far as I'm concerned!

Btw, you said "I visited the college and it was still there in a cupboard...". Must have been quite a small college (or maybe a gargantuan cupboard?).

I'm happy you say that.
(OK maybe more than a cupboard, more of a very small and narrow room, but not really a room.)

Could be abstract humans groping a wood fence? It speaks to me like a lot of abstract art does not. Funny I like abstract music so much, but find most, not all, modern art to be total nonsense.
If I ever find a bag of $ on the proverbial side-of-the-road I will release one of your magical Muju tapes, or two!, and pay you to let that picture be the cover! Seriously! After all this time had no idea you were a skilled painter! We all acknowledge your uncanny skills at recording simple but very effective "sound-pictures" of your county's finest.

Though i don't comment as often as i should, i appreciate your Mujician posts immensely. Absolutely beautiful music. You should definitely keep them comin'. Thank you Andy.

thanks for this. After hearing the totally amazing Mujician with Georgian Voices disc I'm totally weak-kneed for these guys. I thoroughly recommend the disc mentioned: unique, moving, unclear if it is all improv or not (it is apparently); the fit with the voices takes it into contemporary comp.

Maybe someone could be interested to see this outstanding recent solo performance by Keith Tippett in Italy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JW2qdrPBikA [720 p].
