Mal Waldron & Gary Peacock- First Encounter-(Catalyst CAT7906, LP Rec 1971)

A treat for those who love the great Mal Waldron's ,wonderful sequence of exploratory albums from the early 70's (quite a few of which are still out of print).
My rip is from the catalyst (U.S) reissue from the mid 70's ..

A pity Togashi Masahiko who at the time was performing and recording with Gary Peacock wasn't on hand for this .. other than the heavy handed drumming, this is top class!

there is an mp3 rip floating around for anyone who prefers that format.. just google the name of the album.
-First encounter- : Mal Waldron & Gary Peacock :

 Mal Waldron (p)
 Gary Peacock (b)
 Hiroshi Murakami (d)

The heart of the matter -
What's that -
Walking way -

Note : Entire session on Catalyst CAT7906 and Explosive (F)538010.
A note,to those exploring Waldron for the first time, its almost all great , but for those who like tougher more exploratory sounds his series of enja discs are exceptionally glorious !

ENJOY!!

  7. anonymous, please try a little harder being less anonymous. blogger ID is so easy - several famous cretins have got one no problem (<20 seconds).
Then try a little harder to be less rude.
Then try a little harder to be more gracious.
Then try not to do a stupid thing like print scans or photos that people provide you along with the music they ripped you for free

I am not a member of this blog - just 'some guy' OK?

Your "thanks anyway" sucks a very large one indeed.
Please please anonymous person - reconsider.
    "Become a person"
    "Be gracious"
People will not only talk to you - they may even like you ! !

  8. Point taken, S. Generally speaking, if anybody feels that the work is not up to some pre-defined standard, they are free to say so and we'll print it, provided it's on topic and to the point. No skin off my or Sotise's back (I suspect), though. One should bear in mind that we're all jolly amateurs around here.

  9. Thanks S&K.. Anons remarks barely touch me as K noted ...

i ought to point out cover shots of any kind are simply a courtesy , for me they dont serve any particular purpose other than identification ...

why would you bother printing the covers !

my concern is that Anon is possibly a Bootlegger who is selling OOP Vinyl rips with printed jackets , on line somewhere...
no avoiding that fact they exist and we are perhaps also inadvertantly servicing ?supplying the parasitical cretins!

  10. On those occasions when I rip and post an LP I'll take a photo as I don't have a scanner. In any event, the music is what's important, and if I'm getting an OOP gem that someone has taken the trouble to rip and post, I'm grateful for that. Thank you, Sotise!

  17. Excellent work Mr S.

I had this on vinyl ~ as has been said, it's a shame the drumming is not up to the class of the other two, but hey ... nothing's perfect! :D

  27. Am I missing something? It appear that folks have downloaded the file. Since it's out of print and never issued on cd, I don't mind doing that, but I don't see a link. Maybe it was removed, or am I overlooking something obvious?

  28. The latter. Go to Mew23's comment up above. The link's working, too.
