By coincidence I saw Evan today at Tony Levin's funeral. Sad day, but it did bring together some of the greats of British jazz. This is how I like to here Parker. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletei'll post up a really amazing performance of Evan parker / Peter evans / chris corsano from Bard college last year. first time evans and corsano had ever played together!
ReplyDeletei have a few more interesting concerts I could upload from Bard, which has been presenting quite a bit of fantastic improvised music recently. i have Ellery Eskelin/andrea parkins/jim black, joe mcphee/richard teitelbaum/thurman barker,
thurston moore/chris corsano/bill nace, as well as
adam rudolph/kenny wessel/ralph buzzy jones.
all these concerts are pretty well-recorded and all featuring completely improvised music in the school's chapel.
