Given the recent "flood" of Don Cherry boots in the contributions section I recalled this post which sleeps on my hd since more than a year.

  3. Don Cherry is not a household name because his playing isn't showy enough to inspire young players to copy him. But he's had a tremendous influence on improvising musicians working to include and integrate music from other cultures. Even his less successful material seems heartfelt to me. I look forward to hearing this one.
