  3. Many thanks for these two gems, 'Spiritual Moments' (Mr Lacy looking exceptionally jolly) and 'Eternal Duo'.

I can't be the only person who wouldn't have heard any of Steve Lacy's Japanese 'collaborations' were it not for Inconstant Sol and Nine Grey Chairs, and the more I listen to these 'records' the more it seems to me that the music he made with these musicians is amongst his finest. So, as well as thanks, perhaps a small round of applause.

I notice that the post for 'The Wire' has been removed. Does that mean it is going to be given a rub down and a polish like the very wonderful 'Stalks'?

  5. ...just wanted to add a hats off to the ripper - this is an excellent rip of very well done recording. I started listening to this one in the car and pulled it out to play on the living room stereo after noticing the incredible presence of Togashi's drums in the recording. When I got it inside I then noticed the fine job they did recording Kent Carters bass. Steve sounds bright - but then I think that's Steve more than the recording. I have many modern recordings that do not sound near as good as this one. I suppose I'm a little behind in catching these Lacy recordings, but am glad I took the time to listen to this one today! Thanks to all of the contributors.

  10. It is - seemingly - still in print.
Take a look f.e. at Improvised Music from Japan > http://www.japanimprov.com/cdshop2/

Scroll until "POLYSTAR JAZZ LIBRARY". There you'll find it for 2000 Yen.
It's the reissue from 2005 - same version I've bought some years ago.
