MICHAEL SMITH "LA MUSIQUE BLANCHE" (LE CHANT DU MONDE, 1975)

Ten years after "Man Running" from the duo of Scianni and Izenzon the musical possibilities have become "shoreless" and one of the fruits of this re-/evolution you can hear on "La Musique Blanche".
Au contraire to the titel the music is colourful and is offering a range of moods and emotions.

It was Sotise who made me aware of Michael J. Smith - this post is especially for you.

The LP I got was in a very poor condition. I tried - carefully - to remove the scratches.

Some information which has little to do with the post.

"destination Out" you can download (again) two recordings from FMP.
Both were never before officially available in digital format.
It is Peter Brötzmann & Andrew Cyrille Duo (FMP 1000).
The other one is a former double LP from Rüdiger Carl "Zwei Quintette" (FMP 1210/20).
Both are quite different and in my opinion a must have.

You can download both as flac or high-quality mp3 (and more).
    Go to
    > http://destination-out.com/

or directly to the download store > http://destination-out.bandcamp.com/

You can have the music and support the musicians for only 11,49$.

  2. Thanks very much for the very underrated Michael Smith.
Also, it is nice to see someone advertising Destination Out's excellent series of FMP downloads. May I just point out that $11.49 (US) is approx. £7.25 or 8.5 Euros or 945 Yen which, taking inflation into account, works out at less than half the price I was paying for their vinyl 20 years ago. This is astonishingly cheap.

  3. Sorry, me again; when I said 'astonishingly cheap' I meant 'astonishing good value'.
