Cecil Taylor "Live In The Black Forest" (LP, MPS 15.505)
As far as i know this one was never issued as a regular CD, unless a high costly japanese edition, long OOP by now. As a pearl, remained in vinyl. This one came straight from the portuguese LP edition from 1979 (Dargil), as you can see by the back cover text translated in vernacular. Hope you enjoy it.
side 1: The Eel Pot [24:57]
side 2: Sperichill on Calling [25:08]
Cecil Taylor, piano
Raphe Malik, trumpet
Jimmy Lyons, alto saxophone
Ramsey Ameen, violin

Thank you VERY much for this rare one... but can you check Track 1 Part 2. Mediafire says it's an invalid address. The others are fine.
Thanks,
Mark
Thanks a lot! Good vinyl quality and good vinyl transfer. The sound is crisp and clean. This is a good improvement over the other version available at http://mps-love.blogspot.com.
Very clean lossles rip indeed. I never understood why so few of the MPS LPs were never re-released on CD. This should be one of the first candidates.
This WAS reissued on CD in Japan and wasn't at all had to come by while I was living there (3 or so years ago). I never picked a copy up though - what a fool!
Thanks for this post!!!
Thanx for the nice post, but it seems i have a problem with reaching mediafire. All the links lead me to this link http://urlseek20.vmn.net/search.php?q=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mediafire.com%2Ffile%2Fyjmzqamtlkk%2F01%2520-%2520Track%25201.part1.rar&tbn=vendio&type=404&lg=en or am i doing something wrong?
thanks for the cecil!
Thanks for this great post. I got the "invalid" message from Mediafire, too, but tried a second time and it went through fine. Who knows? If at first you don't succeed...
Yes, it all works if you keep trying. Thanks so much for this post!
Hi to all of you.
It seems some people have trouble with the links and others don't... For those who had the problems, please try them again. They were copied through the link provided by mediafire. They should be ok.
Nevertheless if the problem persists i'll upload through other place.

Never liked Cecil's playing--and still don't, but thank for the Mediafire links which are quite fast!
(sorry for the negative critique.)
I do have a fondness for this particular line-up. I got in the post today another record with the same crew, listed as no. 35 in the CT sessionography (the posted one being no. 36). No. 37, a triple lp, was a very fine thing, too, and so was no. 40. Gotta go looking for no. 34, though. In other words, thanks for filling in the blanks!
All the low-down here:

One thing that perhaps should get posted here are what appear to be unreleased parts of no. 18. A killer line-up on that one, CT, JL, Alan Silva and Andrew Cyrille. Paris, 1966-11-30. Phew!
I have posted a digital rip 320 mp3

Great post. Thank You NM!
It's from a period in CT's work I like very much. The rip is fantasic, worth burning a CD, which will become a neighbour to my copies of "Dark To Themselves" and "It Is In The Brewing Luminous".

Good to know this talking of producer Georg Brunner-Schwer - if interesting enough besides flac,mp3 etc.
Cecil started noodling on the Boesendorfer, Brunner-Schwer started the machine, it went on and on. so-called producer JE Berendt was late, went into the control room, and asked for starting the recording session. BS told 'All finished!' Everybody who knew JE Berendt can imagine what a bad expierience for him this was.

Just a small correction
The label-numbers 15xxx were no longer used at the time of issue of this record. It was just use by the company for internal reasons. MPS was distributed by Metronome with label numbers 68.xxx.

@ NM Thanks a lot for the post, unfortunately the B side has been deleted by Mediafire, so I would appreciate you could RE-UP, or post another link, if there is
Thanks again
