  3. On behalf of the ancient citizens of Athens, Greece, a city I know a little, and its 4,000 years of history, I register a good-natured PROTEST!!

  4. Dear glmlr,

    Lighten' up, man!

If you go to the original post in which I offered to post the entire festival, it is clearly stated that it took place in Athens GA (that is the state of Georgia, in the United States).

    Best, Gus

  5. Just teasing of course, Gus! By pure coincidence, the ancient city of Athens has been my home for the last 40 years, which of course is a mere drop in the ocean in terms of the local perception of time!

    Best,

    g

  6. great show!
    thank you so much.
so far, featuring Joe Morris, I had only listened to the Duo with Anthony Braxton recordings which I really love and heartfully recommend by the way.
and there's no doubt that this live sharing will get me to look forward to any of his upcoming releases.
I'm usually not a big fan of the guitar in such groups but there's something with his playing that doesn't make the guitar sound like the odd part within the combo.
    thanks again, Gus.
'looking forward for any other recording made during that festival.
the Broetzmann one was highly enjoyable too.

  7. 'sorry to be doing all the talking around these parts, but even if I won't retract any of my appreciation for Joe Morris and in particular for this great show you shared with us, I'll try and be more informed next time.
'just listened to Marc Ribot's Spiritual Unity and well, what a blast.
it's as good as it gets. it's true I might be a bit prejudiced because I'm a big fan of Ayler's but in any case, who'd have thought of Spiritual Unity becoming a standard, in a positive way?
sorry to go out of the way, but I guess that this is what that kind of music is all about.
building bridges here and there that encourage knowledge and appreciation.
I'll shut up now and wait for the next one.

  8. Hey, hey. Note the RickDog link comes up as an "attack page," and should probably be deleted for safety's sake. Keep up the good work!
