brotzmann/mcphee quartet live in london 2001

hi all
here we have an item from 'boromirs tape collection of bbc broadcasts
, brotzmann's not exactly subtle on this, but the noteworthy textural interaction of the rythmn section magically offsets ,the ferocious constant intensity of the horns.
this may not be the best place to start with mcphee (it doesn't really display the wide range of his enormous gifts, but its an exiting if visceral listen.
personnel
peter brotzmann-alto, tenor saxes
joe mcphee-tenor sax
we are not sure who the drummer and bassist are , my guess is kent kessler-db
and michael zerang-drums
no track titles(sounds like one long improvisation of 50 minutes + a short track which starts with a mcphee tenor solo then cuts out after 10 minutes or so)
if you like this you'll probably love 'tales out of time' the 2002 brotz/mcphee collaboration on hatology .
i dont know whether thats in circulation ,if not i may just put it up if any one's interested.
MCPHEE HAS MANY ALBUMS OUT ON ATAVISTIC, CLEANFEED, AND OKKA DISC AS WELL AS HAT OLOGY,AMON OTHERS
AND BROTZ HAS SQUILLIONS OUT ON F.M.P,OKKA, ATAVISTIC ,......ETCETERA
PLESE BUY THEIR AVAILABLE ALBUMS!!!!!!!
ripped by boromir to 160kbs mp3,thanks boromir
cheers

  1. Is this indeed a BBC recording??? The sound disappears around the 27th-28th minute, and later returns.

May we have some clearer information as to who the bassist and drummer are please???

this is, according to boromir a bbc
broadcast, we do not know definitively who the rythymn section are.
as for the cut out i downloaded it and that did not happen.
it used to happen to me quite a lot.
no matter how big a hardrive you have ive found that if i have more than a dozen albums in my music, they simply wont burn without
    cutting out.
cleaning out the recycle bin,and the registy will help too.
other than that a re download often helps.
sorry i cant help youwith the personel.
ultimately its the music that counts.

I have a recording of BBC broadcast from Brotzmann-McPhee dated 24.3.01 which was recorded at the Empty Bottle Chicago with Noel Kupersmith (b) and Chad Taylor (d).
