ReplyDeleteGreat share Ernst, I think that you told me about this recording some month ago, it is nice to have it here. Basically I'm more interested in Kazutoki Umezu than about Akira Sakata and it is the presence of Umezu and Yoriyuki Harada that makes me want to listen to this recording. It is also the important tradition of the big bands in Japan that makes me curious about this one. It is very different than what Sakata do elsewhere and I'm not sure that there are some official recordings in big band in his discography. The first listen is great, the DJ is boring to speak over the second track but we can't chut his mouth now!
ReplyDeletefor those who are interested in spectacular big bands of Japan you can check Seikatsu Kōjyō Iinkai (is this music it is) but also east Asia orchestra various recordings or Shibuzachirazu orchestra.
Thank you very much!
