This is one of the rare appearances of Dietmar Diesner on LP/CD. He's not very eager to do recordings at all and his opinion is that (freely) improvised music is better appreciated in a live setting (... he might have a point ...). And the last of his few recordings he seemingly made approximately 1997/98 - and that's it.
... who weren't at the location when the music happened ....
Dietmar Diesner, all instruments, etc.
1. Permanence 8805032224 (21:15)
alto saxophone, electronics
2. Verweigerung des Unplötzlichen (10:06)
soprano saxophone, Marmor (marble), Stahltür (steel-door), ein blauer Eimer (blue bucket)
3. Rondo 4A (5:56)
alto saxophone, electronics
4. Entzeitigung (5:36)
alto saxophone, electronics, feedback-effects
Recorded May 3 to 5, 1988 at AMIGA-Studio, Berlin
AMIGA 8 56 377
(vinyl rip)
BTW: "Verweigerung des Unplötzlichen" means something like "refusal of the un-sudden". And "Entzeitigung" means that something (or everything) is 'removed' from the influence of time on all (or some) things existing.

ReplyDeleteThank you !
ReplyDeleteThis is terrific! Hat tip and thank you
ReplyDeleteHi serviceton, glad you do enjoy the Diesner vinyl rip. Not so much music available from him. Especially as he seems to work for the most part in theatre (even as a actor according my source).
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting it Ernst - I knew little of Diesner. He sounds as if he has not 'confined' himself to the free-improv/freejazz world. I think the philiosphy of the music only really working live is a valid position to take. Not everyone would agree, but that's his position I've heard musicians say similar things (only to then go on and wax rhapsodic about their favourite monster free records from the 60s and 70s! - haha )
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this LP - thanks again
