ReplyDeleteBIG THX!...
ReplyDeletethank you very much!
ReplyDeleteCool, thanks.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ernst.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks. I really rate Bennani, but some of his stuff is very difficult to come by.
ReplyDeleteI wonder about that date of 1999. It's the same quartet as features on "New Today, New Everyday", recorded in Paris, also by Duboc, in May and June, 2009:

That's correct Colin. But the scans of the booklet and the label's website say 1999.
ReplyDeleteI assume these guys played a lot of concerts over the years and where probably a kind of working group.

They do indeed, but it wouldn't be the first time someone's got their years wrong - it's an easy slip and NoBusiness Records do it regularly. It was however, only a thought.
ReplyDeleteI tried to contact Bennani about the availability of some of those JaZt Tapes recordings, as suggested by the website, but never got a response.
I too really rate Bennani - sad thing is I only discovered him after he'd died - but then without blogs like this I would probably have never heard him - thanks a lot - much appreciated - Fred
ReplyDelete"...never got a response."
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me about Moers' Records usual way of communication...
Maybe you're right about the date, though.
Thank you, Ernst.
ReplyDeletethanks Ernst from Another Bennani Fan, i was told by the chief of Improvising Beings in Paris that there was a possibility of some of these tapes being reissued possibly as digital releases oin bandcamp... so some great news on the horizon!
ReplyDeleteMany thanks
ReplyDeleteThanks Ernst!! Enfance on Marge label (same quartet) recorded in 1998.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
