Irène Schweizer ~ Joey Baron Duo / Festival Unerhört Zürich ~ 27th October 2015


Interesting piano / drum duo with Irène Schweizer and Joey Baron at the 2015 Zürich Unerhört Festival. Schweizer reaches deep into jazz piano tradition for a sequence of energetic improvisations - quite different from the abstraction of a Taylor / Oxley meeting, for example.

    Wow, this is something! I love Irene Schwiezer's playing, in particluar in duo settings with a drummer, where she has a coupe of CD out on Intakt records. They are real gems, like the ones with Pierre Favre and Han Bennink. Joey Baron should be quite interesting in this setting, too. Can't wait to listen.... Thanks for this!

    I've deleted the links. There's an upcoming CD on Intakt with this duo.
    And according the biography of Irene Schweizer she played only once with Joey Baron.
    So I assume this is the concert which will be available in September 2017.
