  4. Ornette Coleman - Thank you for your music
He was 85 - seems he was reasonably healthy for most of his life up to his death.
He has CHANGED the way we perceive Music (not only Jazz).
He had a real character - we call it deep.

  6. I am lost for words still, but I don't think I would have been on this blog without Ornette and his groups bringing me into free jazz. Maybe he can get a decent record deal in heaven.

  8. very sad news indeed.
deepest thanks to ornette for all of the beautiful music he has given the world.
i got to see ornette play a trio show with billy higgins and charlie haden in LA in 1990.
don cherry was unable to take part due to a recent surgery.
needless to say the music was beautiful and i was honored to be there.
i will be listening to live at the caravan of dreams and body meta today.
    peace all!
