THE FRIENDLY FACE OF FREE IMPROVISATION.....
As Keith Tippett likes to call it
'spontaneous composition', and this really sounds like it. I don't think I can think of a more musical group of doggedly determined free improvisers; making up tunes as they go along. There are moments of real beauty, real passion, real swing, real good old fun, and even reggae! I hope you can enjoy this.
KEITH TIPPETT - piano
PAUL DUNMALL - baritone and soprano saxophones
CHRIS BOLTON - bass
TONY LEVIN - drums

Brilliant, thanks Andy - and a very belated enormous thanks to both you and Paul for the DLE deluge. Had been away & came back to find all the DLE wonders plus a Sun Ra flood on Dime, & been catching up ever since. Also recommend anyone to visit Bartons Arms, an amazing ornate Victorian survival.
ReplyDeleteCool, pre-Duns LE, thanks.
ReplyDeleteThanks Andy - I saw KT at the Bartons Arms around that period, but it must have been a year or so before this. Great venue.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks Andy for this great music.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely gonna enjoy this. Thank you Andy.
ReplyDeleteOh joy! Thank you. I saw all but one of these 'notMujician' gigs; and I remember each night Tony Levin seemed to manage just one facial expression - pure happiness.
ReplyDeleteHi Andy,
ReplyDeleteAgain and as always: thank you for spreading this fantastic music.
This is the gig I missed, so extra thanks. However, my first track seems to lack any sound. Is it just me?
ReplyDeleteYes it was me. I have downloaded again and everything is now fine.
ReplyDeletethanks for this one.
