The concert took place in January 1969 in Munich, after this all-star group toured South America the year before. So, it was kind of a reprise for their German fans. (I met Albert Mangelsdorff, the trombonist on this exquisite cover shot, a few times - an exquisite musician and a very likeable person.)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nick! Very nice!
ReplyDeleteAppreciated, thanks.
ReplyDeleteI never knew about this groups existence before onx and Nick made these posts. I've really been enjoying them! So thanks guys for your hard work and generosity. It's much appreciated
ReplyDeleteFinally I got to hear it thanks to you Nick.
ReplyDeleteTom Lord's discography says it was recorded in spring '69.
But wether January or spring it is a great share. Especially for my recent research interests.
Thanks again!
Wow! No me puedo imaginar a toda esta banda junta! Debe ser todo un sueño haberla visto en este set!
ReplyDeleteGracias Nick
Thanks. Love the cover.
ReplyDeleteI have an excerpt from this recording, published many years ago in Italy in an LP dedicated to Mangelsdorff, where the reported date is January 19, 1969
