Very, very nice to see this. Thanks Nick. Forgot to buy it some weeks ago when I saw it at discogs and then it was gone. So it is especially great to be able to hear it now!
Question: does anyone know if there is any truth to the story that Evan Parker is going to stop releasing music via PSI Records. I assume the story is true and probably connects to the move by Emanem's founder to Spain, but I am not sure. No more Emanem or PSI? Sad, if true.
Evan Parker has not the wish to stop releasing on PSI - that's what he told me on the 10th of January. But with the relocation of Martin Davidson to Spain no one knows how PSI will be continued or who will be responsible for the actual work concerning the production. Evan Parker obviously has not enough time for such a task. ...and I do not think EMANEM will cease its productions. See also what he writes on the website > http://www.emanemdisc.com/news.html
Thank you for the quick reply to my question. It looks like a tough situation from what Davidson says in the link you indicated. What he says there corresponds with what I have heard regarding the loss of distribution. Sad.
Thank you Nick for the reup. This fits nicely since I have a serious crush on Evan Parker's music since I saw him playing with Schlippenbach a year ago. Yes, I am a noobie to free improvisation, coming from completely different sonic spheres.
Re other comments on Emanem and PSI I can see entirely where Martin Davidson is coming from and why he has not committed to future releases. Have just bought Evan's As The Wind and is a must hear. Excellent service from EmamenDisc
these two are always play good together,
ReplyDeletethanks much, Nick!
