ReplyDeletewow - never heard of this, and i'm a fan of both. don't know that much from early greene, came to this musician via his excellent klezmer band klezmokum (5 cd's on bvhaast), featuring perry robinson on clarinet.
ReplyDeletethanks to the duo infernale, nick/onxidlib!!! :D
Ha! Your turn now M. Onxidlib - I was about to post this record as well !
ReplyDelete(didn't know it got reprinted in Japan)

Oh! Turning pink :O - you got me Serviceton!
ReplyDelete...and here's the mp3 (320), provided by Nick > http://www.megaupload.com/?d=T3LLDN18
No no - please!! A very welcome post. And an interesting record. And audibly in better condition than mine.
ReplyDeleteSo - thanks (both)!
Merci beaucoup, Messieurs Nick et Onxidlib.
ReplyDeleteI'm particularly fond of the promenade in Prins Hendrik Garden's alleys.
A quiet and dreamy record, just what I need.
Haven't heard this one before. Thank you Nick % onxidlib for this rare Futura recording.

ReplyDeletethanx a lot for reup , onxidlib!
ReplyDeleteall i previosly heard of Greene's records is "The Ongoing Strings" by his duo with Alan Silva, posted here earlier, pretty impressive stuff (by the way, as i investigated, The Free Form Improvisation Ensemble, whose album was released in 1999, includes Burton Greene and Alan Silva both and what's interesting that album was recorded in 1964!), so i've discovered Greene for myself and must say his music is worth checking for sure...so i really liked this album and of course Aquariana (the link for this one is still active!)too.
thanx again!
I've just acquired a copy of this item:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.discogs.com/Burton-Greene-encounters-Alan-Silva-and-Sunny-Murray-Firmanence/release/1237853
Should be up here sometime soon ...
Interesting - I've had no knowledge about "Firmanence" at all!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good record - one of his best I reckon
ReplyDelete@K I have ripped a sheaf of BG's, including some of the hard-to-find early 70's ones - had the thought of posting a Greene 'festival' of sorts. But can leave that one out of the schedule if you're already 'on the case'..
..although given the recent rate of posting on nine grey chairs, I would not be surprised if you did not believe a word I say ...... ;-) .....
ReplyDelete...and should tomorrow the world come to an end I shall plant a tree today...;)...
ReplyDeleteNone of your Lutheran cant thanks Mr onxidlib - even if it is most apposite.
ReplyDeleteActually... - c'est juste.
:o)
To the turntable !
and more Greene's is very welcome to be noted ;-)
ReplyDelete@S: You start the show and then I'll drop in as appropriate, eh?
ReplyDeleteK - despite not being in the habit of doing so, I will endeavour to put my money where my mouth is. It's about time..
ReplyDeleteplease repost if possible, thank you
