LABORATORIO DELLA QUERCIA (HORO, 1978)
This record is similar to the London Jazz Composers Orchestra [> upcoming] sessions, as it features a large group , with individual players stepping out for solos from time to time.
There was an announcement about a reissue of the Horo catalogue. But apart of a few CDs (Rivers,Shepp, Sun Ra and Konitz/Solal duo), which are now - again? - OOP , we have still to wait until it eventually will happen.
Wish I could have been there!

ReplyDeleteWonderful. Thank you.
ReplyDeletegreat group, great recording,
ReplyDeletewhen Rome was truly an "open city".
on HORO records, it's true, there was a lot of noise "for nothing"...

A beauty, thanks.
ReplyDeleteSensational !
ReplyDeleteI have seen it listed in the [now mystical & sacred] Horo catalogue - but never seen a copy and never heard it. Until Now ! Am looking forward to it. Thank you.
As always, wonderful music. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much for all your posts; extremely fascinating music and rare stuff
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind the following remark: I think there is "clipping" on this digitalized LP, i.e. analogue signals too strong when digitalized. But never mind, the music is still good.
best regards George
You are right - it's not my rip.
ReplyDeleteI tried to remove the clipping, but it didn't work properly - I think the original ripper gave too much "power" while digitizing the LP.
But I think it's better to have some "clipping" than no music at all!
any chance of getting a re-up on this set? Destination: Out hooked me

I second Phossils question, would it be possible? The line up looks promising on this one
ReplyDeleteWill do a re-up.
ReplyDeleteA third vote here for re-upping this. Fantastic music happening here!
ReplyDeleteAnother vote for a reup. Thanks in advance.

Many thanks. I once owned the vinyl but stupidly sold it.
ReplyDeleteAny chance that you have and could upload Karl Berger / Woodstock Workshop Orchestra – Live At The Donaueschingen Music Festival.
ReplyDeleteOriginally on MPS. Again I once had the vinyl but sold it and have regretted it ever since. Thanks again for all the stuff you've put up.
Thanks! However I could only have Side A, since the link to Side B does not work. May be you can fix it.
ReplyDeleteIn any case many thanks, Dario
The link works fine. The problem is most likely a message about public traffic exhausted which means that you and other downloaders cannot download more than 50 gb per day of the stuff I have posted. In other words, try again tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the re-up of this tremendous stuff. What a line-up!
ReplyDeleteI hate to ask this favor, since I have already gained such benefit of hearing the tremendous postings you have made. But I am having terrible problems with the rapidshare links. At the end of two twelve hour download efforts, I get a simple "download failed." Is it possible perhaps to add another host like zippyshare or someone? Again, thank you so much for the wonderful work!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I would echo the other reader's request for an "up" of Karl Berger's Woodstock Workshop live! Thanks again for all you do!
ReplyDeleteThere have been some changes at RS so that files now have to be explicitly shared to be accessible (if I understand it properly).
ReplyDeletePlease try these links and report back if they work or not!

ReplyDeleteSad to report, same thing, a 19 hour download in progress!!! :-(

ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU SIR!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming to the rescue, Onx. Rs is getting to be a pain in the proverbial!
ReplyDeleteThank you a million times for your efforts and perseverance in keeping the flame alive. Yay!
ReplyDeleteA huge thanks for posting this one. It is tough to find. I've wanted to hear it for years.
ReplyDeleteZippyshare rocks too.
Any chance for a reup? Just listened to the one piece that's on youtube and my head's still spinning. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for the reup. What a fantastic record!
ReplyDeleteBIG THX!....
ReplyDeleteAre we sure the personnel for this date is complete as listed? The scan of the cd inlay included in the file list Eugenio Colombo as composer and soloist on the 2nd track of cd2, Nella Casa Delle Papere, but he is not listed with the rest of the group. Anyone have additional info to clear this up?
