    Jazz Alternatives is/was a show on WKCR hosted by Peter Low. I thnk Steve Reid's Oddysey Of The Oblong Square was also recorded there in Jan 1977

    And yes, Steve Reid's "Odyssey Of The Oblong Square" was recorded there as well - just checked it.

    Yes I have seen the Kalaparusha movie - It is a shame that he has to play underground for making a living.
    He has missed some chances by himself - but nevertheless he is a real master - no endorsement from the "official" side. How absent-minded - to put it mildly.
    But in the end it's just that...

    And yes, a very interesting website - sadly the videos are only some seconds long - hopefully someday they will provide full features PLUS audio.

    If the album is available on Amazon - it is - then there must be at least a chance that the artist could see some royalty money from sales. Japanese-issue or no.
    And boy, is Kalaparusha someone who could use the money.
    Heartbreaking film.

    I know that Kwanza is available at Amazon.

    To my best knowledge it is deleted by the label/company.

    I'm working at a really big music store - I have imported the CD myself from Japan - this were the last copies I could get from a big whole-sale company from Japan (last year).

    I have a japanese costumer who goes back to Japan at least once a year - he checked it for me in Osaka/Kobe - and he told me as well that this CD is deleted.

    As far as I know, and according the information my costumer could get in Japan, Kalaparusha is getting NO royalties from this CD.

    Off course it's still possible that I'm wrong!

    In general the royalties are paid before and/or after the CD is being sold by the company and not after it is sold by a shop or mail-order...

    Again - I - still - could be wrong contrary to my best knowledge.

    onx, you have obviously checked it out , and obviously care if Kalaparusha might possibly get anything. Sounds like your knowledge is good and the answer is certainly no.
    From what you say, no I wouldn't delete the link.
    Sorry to be meddling!
    Damn - that film though.. very moving, it made me sad

    Thank you for uploading this great piece of music. I don't want to sound ungrateful, but am I the only one who notices a rather loud hum and crackling noises at intermittent points during most of the tracks? It sounds like a grounding/poor connection problem. I've checked my own connections and downloaded the files from two different servers, so I know it's not on my end. Anyone else bothered by this?

    Thank you for your prompt and courteous reply. Perhaps it would have been more helpful if I had offered specific times during which I heard the problem. It is most noticeable from 12:10-12:22 on track #2 "Leo", but can also be heard at 11:23 and 11:37 of the same track. If you have the time and are inclined to do so, please let me know if you hear it too. Thanks again.

    I have found/heard the crackling - unfortunately it is not only in the files but also on the CD.

    I have called a friend who has the CD as well - and on his CD it's the same...

    Maybe the pressing isn't okay or the fault is already in the recording.

    Especially at the end of track #2 (Leo - 12:10-12:22) I have the impression that the crackling is connected with the bass.

    However - it seems we have to live with it.

    I haven't noticed it before and have to admid that it doesn't affect me very much.

    But - thank you for your good ears and your attention!
