Oliver Lake Trio - Live in Alassio '79

i've taped this set a week after the Willisau concert
(September 1st, 1979) published by hatArt (Zaki).
The music is rather different, more varied, well
representing Lake's eclecticism.

Rec. live in Alassio, Italy, on September 8th, 1979
(mics recording)

Oliver Lake,alto saxophone,flute
Michael Gregory Jackson,electric guitar,vocals
Pheeroan ak Laff,percussions

  2. This should be very, very nice. I love Jackson's singing (as a complement to his guitar, not so much as the main event; have you heard his more recent 90s recordings? Not very exciting) and it will be a treat to hear it in this context. Thank you for making available more music from this extraordinary trio.

  3. Super recording! Many thanks riccardo.

I wish I could help with track names, but so far i've drawn a blank.

  4. Thanks for sharing riccardo. It's interesting to hear this relatively early Lake recording with an interesting band.

  5. Yep, dug that set. Eclecticism is not neccessarily a bad thing in my book. Trying to catch up with your other postings. Keep it going!

  6. I grabbed this a while back and just now had a chance to listen and say thanks. A great group of pieces by a great trio. One of the most "musical" of all envelope-stretching bands. Three great artists.
