Thanks a lot for sharing! Much appreciated to hear any new Fred Anderson!
ReplyDeleteThanks very much! I saw Fred awhile back at the Velvet Lounge -- great as always.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for this post. As Ubu said, any new Fred Anderson is worth hearing. He seems to be well documented from 1990 onwards, but there's not so much around from his earlier days.
ReplyDeleteThis is so flippin' good. Thank you! Fred can't play very fast, his intonation can sometimes sag, he can be repetitious ... but he's been one of my favorites ever since "Little Fox Run" on "Song For" (I forget when it came out - I was a teenager). May he live long and prosper and continue to be a good wind blowing no ill. And may you, Riccardo, be rewarded for your generosity.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy comparisons; and always enjoy Fred Anderson's playing. Thanks for sharing, riccardo.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this! What a terrific group. Fred Anderson and Hamid Drake are wonderful together, and Palmore is a revelation.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHow is it possible that Fred was one of the first members of the AACM and played on both Song for, and seasons, but I can't find any albums from him form that time, maybe the earliest album I've seen under his name was released in 1979. I mean Roscoe, Jarman, Bowie, Maurice McIntyre all had albums and he didn't?
Thank you very much...! Fred Anderson is always a treat for the ear.
ReplyDeleteThanks again.
