  3. Thanks to pierre and sotise for this. A rare example of a recording including Kenneth Terroade. Perhaps some kind soul could convert to mp3 and upload. My own experience is that only about 20% of downloaders on this site take the flac version when their is also mp3 on offer.

  4. Let me second Boromir in saying 1) Thanks for posting this, and 2) Please someome repost this as MP3s. I love the twists and turns that Inconstant Sol is taking! Blessings all round.

  5. OK. I'll attend to the mp3s. I just have to get my tool box first. Watch this space ...

You're a gentleman, sir. Many thanks.

  7. Thank you for the post. I would have done an MP3 reformat (I can do that now) but I'm also having problems unzipping them on my Mac. It seems to be the .z01 and .z02 file names. 320 MP3s or a more common zip format for the flacs would be most welcome.

(I did these before reading kinabulu's post, and I hope he reads this before reconverting them himself).

  9. Wallofsound, normally you should only have to unzip the .zip file and it should reconstruct the whole archive. Can't help you with the Mac though, I'm a PC person :).
If somebody can point me toward a way of making multi parts archives which would be more convenient for everybody, let me know.

    Best,
    Pierre

  10. Tantris,
Thanks a million for those MP3s. I've emailed Kinabalu to let him know you posted them.

I must say, it's nice to see a another selection featuring Ambrose Jackson. (Also on the lovely "Wordless" from Steve Lacy.) He is also on the two stunning Marion Brown records "Gesprächsfetzen" and "In Sommerhausen," both on Calig, and Braxton's "RBN-3K12." But does anyone know anything more about him?

  11. Ah, that was quick! I had upped about 20 per cent of the album and then realised I had forgot the scans. Well, nobody can complain about the level of service here :-)

You can make multi-part archives with WinRar. It has a feature which allows you to cut the files into 100 mb segments which, of course, is very convenient for posting large flac files to RapidShare or other servers. I use that option for any folder larger than 100 mb or alternatively, post it on DivShare which gives you a 200 mb ceiling, at least for the free services.

  12. When I first saw this I was under the impression that it was the s/t featuring Jacques Coursil -- but of course it isn't. This was good news, though, because it means that it's new to me! Sweetness.

Thanks a lot for the post and conversion!

  13. Very nice. This post really made my day. Thanks to Pierre and Sotise. I have several of the Shandars in my collection - BUT not this one. What a line-up. And while I'm at it, thanks for the Francois Tusques on Shandar. Another rarity and gem which I lacked. You are doing an incredible job filling in the void that was created when CN9 folded.

  14. Gents,

Many, many thanks for this. These are exciting times on your nifty blog. It's a shame I'm employed and don't have enough hours in the day to keep up with the excellent material you're posting.

  16. Although late to the party, I can still be the first to say: Cheers for the flac!

    Many thanks.

p.s. from the file extensions, I think 7-zip (free) would be the tool to use to decompress.

  17. Pierre & sotise, thank you very much! These Sunny Murray jewels are very much appreciated and sought after at this end.

I read a snippet from an interview that Sunny got ripped off with this one,

".. nobody spoke French but Archie, and they put in the contract like they had the rights for “infinity”. I happened to talk to a lawyer friend, and he said “Infinity? You can't put “infinity” in a contract.” "

    technote:
Zipit will open these archives on a Mac. It is quite tricky though so I have enclosed some instructions too.
