Here's one from the 2014 Talos festival in Puglia, Italy, with the Minafric orchestra playing their 'For Mandela' suite, with guests Louis Mofolo, Keith Tippett and Julie Tippetts. This is high energy and really good fun free music, almost a collision between Alan Silva's Seasons, Albert Ayler and Sun Ra.

I saw this trio once.  I'd seen Paul at a gig in Birmingham and he said they were going to be playing at the Oporto in London.  So, when the time came, I went down to check them out.  As I remember, the London streets were busy, busy, the tubes were packed, but when I got to the downstairs room at the Oporto pub there was loooads of space and maybe half a dozen people.  The music though was very busy, almost overwhelmingly so to ears relatively new to this sort of thing. Intense and extremely exciting.

I'm guessing I missed the start of taping this off the radio, and for some reason didn't record the dulcet tones of the great Charles Fox, which might have helped.  Paul can't find his tape of the broadcast, so unless someone else can come up with more completeness - this is all there is.  Check out some fabulous stopping and starting near the beginning.  Both Tony Moore and Dave Alexander have never really got the recognition they deserve.

Picking up the thread from this, here is a recent concert by Ensemble in process of minimalist pieces, including a great version of Terry Riley's In C that deftly shows the eddy currents and subtle fractals that flow through this music;

Wadada Leo Smith Golden Quartet / Roscoe Mitchell & Mike Reed Duet - Théâtre du Châtelet, 19th October 2015

Here's a recording from France Musique of a concert earlier this week at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the AACM. Two sets, the first from Wadada Leo Smith's Golden Quartet, and the second a duet between Roscoe Mitchell and Mike Reed. Thoroughly excellent, especially the blistering performance by Roscoe Mitchell.

I've not done much editing into separate pieces, mainly because the radio presenter speaks over the intro and outro, and at various times to remind the radio audience who is playing. It's only a minor distraction however.
