Hello,

Great blog..

Thanks for consideration.

What should we do?!!!
Is it really John Surman?
whether it's really John Surman or not who wrote that, it's probably best to err on the side of caution and remove the download link.
It's not your intellectual property and you have no legal right to distribute it without the copyright holder's permission, so you're reliant on the goodwill of the musicians and publishers of this music.
this blog is a valuable resource for hearing otherwise unobtainable music and we all benefit enormously from the sonic gems to be found here, but some people might not see it that way...
Re the AMM post dated 12 Jan 2011, can you please post the email address to which I can send my request for the password? Many thanks and best wishes.
Does anybody have or heard Louis Moholo's Viva La Black first sextet album ( http://www.discogs.com/Louis-Moholos-Viva-La-Black-Louis-Moholos-Viva-La-Black/release/653094 ) from 1988? Ogun recently re-released his next work Exile, but this earlier work seems to be completely obscure... Anyway, I saw Louis' concert at last year's London Jazz Festival (duo with Keith Tippett and birthday version of his Unit) and it will be broadcasted by BBC3 on January 24.
Both, have and heard. I'll make a mental note of it and see if I can schedule it in the near future.
I too am hoping to get the password for the AMM post dated 12 Jan 2011. I sent an e-mail to the address listed at the end of the posting several days ago but haven't heard anything back. It seems a little irregular to place an enormous file for possible downloading but to then not make the password available. Can anyone help, please? Otherwise, I suppose I'll have to simply delete the download and move on. Thank you.
-Davide
Hi, I as well tried e-mailing for the password for the AMM post dated 12 Jan 2011 but have not heard anything in response. Maybe the poster could inform us of the password in this thread?
Thanks.

Is there anyone who would kindly post link of "Poem for Gratitude" by Human Arts Ensemble (Charles Bobo Shaw)?
I can not find out this album, after efforts.
This is cuppling of Grip and Metamorphesis of Arthur Blythe. Because these two are live recording of a performance, I gave name of "In concert". As this is ripped from casset tape, quality is not ideal. But acceptable, I guess.
http://rapidshare.com/files/448263244/Arthur_blythe_in_concert.rar
i have both the grip and metamorphoses by arthur blythe , truly wonderful records ...i think i posted them here some years ago , and mp'3's were also at the india navigation hommage blog for a while ... i'd be prepared to re rip to flac both if there was serious interest!
i again post revised mp3 file. Because metamporphosisof previous one has noise made by cassett player. and i found out order of tracks is different between vinyls and CD. So i removed title "in concert", and gave the grip & metamorphosis. files are still in mp3 and ripped from casset type which recorded vinyls.

Love your Blog. Were you ever able to upload part 3 of the "New Adventures in Jazz" Lp which, I believe, is Contraband.?

I'll try to post it in the next future.
Is there anybody who have "Three men from Chicago" which is debut album of Ethnic Heritage Ensemble?
The California High Jazz Quartet "Shadow of the Equinox"
anyone has this?
Has anyone been able to extract the files for the AMM --- BBC Maida Vale Studios Jan 1988? posted here 12 January 2011? I emailed the poster and used the pass returned to me with no success. Including following the advice to place it on my root drive (something I've never needed to do with an extraction, but what the heck). If you've found a way to extract these files successfully, I'd love to know about it.
Answering my own inquiry: Upkerry14 put up some new posts that included an identifying "PW" located in the same position as some unlabeled letters below the link for the AMM show on his web site. The hunt is over. It's like the stuff at the bottom of the eye chart...what is that? I really dislike password encrypted files. (sometimes I find them on my drive and do not know where I got them from...)"Hit and run" - guilty with no regrets. On the Usenet I would be a "Leech". At a concert I'd be a fan.
Is there anyone who has Anthony Braxton's "Four composition" recorded on 1973 with Japanese musicians such as Masahiko Sato?
This album is really very difficul to find oud and obtain.
I have a rip - will put it on my to do list...
Thank you very much! I'm looking forward to waiting. If you have requests of albums, pls. let me know. If I have ones meeting your requests, I will happy to upload.

Anybody have Roswell Rudd "Inside job"? I'm looking for this album for years.
I absolutely love INCONSTANT SOL and have found much surprising and rewarding music here, and it has definately given me new paths to follow.
That being said, here's my request - can it be true that no-one has copies of the two lps by Australian jazz trio The 3 Out, and is willing to share them?
I have made a lot of effort to get even a hearing of these sides, and got nowhere at all. Are these recordings really that rare?

Thank you for letting me know this link of "Byron Morris & Gerald wise: Unity".
I have known this link and listened to the file of this link. I feel the sound of the 2nd track "Black Awareness"
is a little bit strange. Tone of the left side repeatedly becomes big and small like wave. So I wonder if original
Vinyl has this phenomenon or something wrong on ripping. So I hope somebody has another ripping and upload.
Do you know anything about this phenomenon?
I've made the same experience with the files.
Maybe someday someone will have a better rip.

Is this the official channel to report broken or deleted links? I've reported a few in the comment section of their respective posts but I haven't received any replies.
There are some missing links from posts that are over 2 years that I'm interested in. Can anyone help out?

Is there anyway that the links for the Betty Carter concerts in Milan and Rome can be re-upped? I'd be ever so grateful.
In the excellent book "Steve Lacy - Conversations", edited by Jason Weiss, when asked about working with literature Lacy comments "We treat literature musically. We're not the only ones to do that. In France, Andre Hodeir already did it."
Can anyone provide copies of Hodeir's recordings "Anna Livia Plurabelle" and "Bitter Ending" based on James Joyce's "Finnegan's Wake"?
Can someone re-up JACK WRIGHT LARGE ENSEMBLE-( 8 X 9) ,2000
It is long oop and cannot be found anywhere.

excuse my ignorance, but is the infamous John Stevens/ Rashied Ali Double Trio tape been around recently, in good sound? Another classic jam that needs "To BE REAL"! Kowald and Dave are smokin' on there, and the twin horns of Watts and Parker wail magnifecently!
You've made a fantastic works!!!

I hope someone would be able to help me out.
Many thanks in advance, and for sharing so many wonderful thoughts and sounds!
While we are on the subject of Burton Greene, many years ago Bozo somehow lost his copy of the album on Button Nose called "Mountains". It was astronomically fantastic. Almost given up hope for ever finding it again! Bozo would kiss Ronald McDonald to hear it again... Thanks! BTW, someone must be sitting on dozens,if not hundreds of hours of cool stuff done during the BYG recording binge?
I've been looking for Anthony Davis' "Hemispheres" and Guillermo Gregorio's "Ellipsis".
Thanks in advance!
Kevin , i'll re up the Jack wright soon in Flac this time....Bender I can do Hemispheres , and i'll also think about re-upping some earlier posts such as the Communications/roast -C.Bley &JCOA

A friend on the phone went to see Akira Sakata last night and was rueing selling Distant Thunder by Schoof w. Yamashita Trio on Enja.
Google said Sol had it, but after over an hour of different attempts to capture it for him, I have given up. Are there any working links to the complete album? Thre's something wierd about this one. Thanks.
I've terminated my RapidShite account after I found out that the buggers had deleted about 25 per cent of the files, even though I had paid up for a premium account. At the moment RS is busy deleting the remaining 75 per cent. So, if links to my previous posts are empty, pleae report here or under the individual posts and I'll have them up again. But if there's no demand, I'll just let them go. Better let it be demand-driven than supply-driven.

Hello, im lookin for some vibraphone records...
Does anyone have James Newton's "The Mystery School"? I know it popped up in a blog a few years back, but it seems to have simply vanished.
Bender, from memory The Mystery School showed up as MP3s on the India Navigation 'collect-the-label' blog. I will post it in FLAC probably at 9 Grey Chairs (or here). I'm just not sure when is all. Someone here might have it though - then you could get it sooner. If not - it's a 'for sure' for later.
Thanks, Serviceton! Yes, it showed up on the india navigation blog - but the comments seem to have been deleted for some reason.
Could the Peter King post from Boromir please be re-upped? This promises to be excellent but the files have disappeared in Rapidshare...
Could somebody have Joe McPhee's "Graphics"? This is vinyl issued by Hat Hut in 70s. Not re-issued.
Though I reserached web, no shop seems to sell this now.

I'd like to request Steve Lacy's "The Follies" on FMP (now out of print along with much of the FMP discography).
Joel
"Follies" is now available at
http://destination-out.com/
for 11,49 USD.
They have now 40 FMP titles for dl...more upcoming.
It's the official dl site - remastered from the original tapes.
You can choose from a lot of formats (flac, mp3 etc.).
Recommended!
I would also like to see Graphics by Joe McPhee if possible. If it is being reissued please advise.
Thanks for the ip on "Follies". Didn't realize it was available for download. "Graphics" by Joe McPhee would be another excellent post.

Really would like to hear (again) Karl Berger's "Tune In" on Milestones MSP 9026.

Ever since hearing Masahiko Sato's "Trinity" courtesy of this blog (thank you very much by the way), I've been tracking down other albums recorded by Sato during that same week in Nov 1971 (Mangelsdorff "Spontaneous," and Sato/Zoller "A Path Through Haze") but I've been unable to find Sato's "Penetration." Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hi there, love the blog, many thanks.
Any chance of John Stevens' Away, the 3 Vertigo albums "Away" "Somewhere in Between" and "Amazin' Ennit", and maybe the John Stevens' Dance Orchestra "Ah"? None of these have been released on CD.
With the demise of file storage lockers has anyone thought or trying Retroshare? I am using it with a friend and it's a breeze to setup. Private one-to-one sharing (though it acts just like bittorrent - more people =faster transfers). If you'd like to try it email me
upkerry 11 at yahoo dot com
Yes, there should be a chance for those John Stevens albums as I have all four of them (plus a few more). I'll put them on the to do list.
Hi: i see that the links of "ALAN SILVA CELESTRIAL COMMUNICATION ORCHESTRA "DESERT MIRAGE" (IACP, 1982)" are broken.Could anyone reupload then?.Thanks very much

Thank you so much onxidlib (for Pulsation). Appreciate it. Long time free & improvised listener, but just really getting into late 60's-present Japanese free jazz in the last year or so. Amazing stuff. Thanks for all your contributions. Missed a few in the last year. Like Sato's Transformation. Togashi's Al - Alaph, Motion, Essense, We Now Create, Sketch. A re-up of any would be amazing. If not, all is well. I know you all must be very busy. I really appreciate all you guys do. These albums that you post are so hard to find.
Thanks

@ Nikosan and to all who are interested:
the link for
Togashi: Guild for Human Music and for some other Togashi's are still good!
All links for posts I did before mid October 2010 are still working (all are from my rapidshare account).
Nikosan I would like to know where to find some writings of yours!
New link for "Eternal Duo" Togashi & Lacy added...
Do the multiupload links work? They all seem to time out.
Multiupload is dead - as is megaupload/filesonic etc.
Therefore all files stored at these hosters are gone!
Does anyone have Michel Doneda's Terra? It is his first LP as a leader on the French nato label.
Thanks!
I had an idea (lol): A parallel Inc Sol Universe... A user named "Inconstant Sol" could become a seeder at rutracker and seed all the downed links hence saving the universe from boredom. -TSF (Francis)
Can the Frank Wrights be reupped? As well as the Kenneth Torrades?
Sorry, I meant Francois Tusques (not Torrade, don't know what I was thinking!).
We have posted both Frank Wright and Kenneth Terroade in the past, but you weren't thinking of those?
Yes I am, but they are megaupload links.
The Tusques should be OK to repost, because I posted them originally. Wright, possibly, as I posted some of them. Terroade less likely, but I have a copy of the album that was posted (BYG Actuel), but it may have to be redone entirely, and that will take longer.
That would be great, thanks! I actually have the Terroade on lp myself, so that is not an issue for me.
New link for Francois Tusques - Apres la Maree Noire
